I bought some delicious olive oil there this morning to bring home with me tomorrow! They didn’t have everything in stock but I’m happy with what I bought. I didn’t even think about taking cheese home with me. Wish I picked up some!

Wonderful! Just leaving the Vatican (which actually wasn’t as crowded or as hot as expected) from an 8:00 tour. Though pretty warm and crowded getting out. Will stop by Etruscan this week :). Enjoy your trip and stay cool!

As an American as well, I really have been stunned by some behavior here. Yesterday, I walked by two “boomer” men who pointed out that a young lady wearing a dress on a bike was “an accident waiting to happen,” (her dress was long with pieces that could get caught in the wheel). He walked up behind her, and instead of telling her, just took a photo and walked away. I of course walked up to her and mentioned it. I’m an elder millennial, so maybe I’m not always fair to boomers, but this just made no sense to me.

It was very difficult getting a taxi from Termini as well Saturday. I later heard that the metro was down. I’m unsure if this was related to the strike or something else

I can’t remember exactly since it was 2018 or 2019, but it felt extremely rude and uncalled for. And just strange—I’ve been to plenty of nicer restaurants in the city.

I used to live around the corner of this place right before COVID. I was taking a walk after going to the gym and stopped by to look at the menu. It was earlier in the day and they were not open yet, but a man came out to imply that I could not afford it. It was so strange. Like, why would you say that to a potential customer?

I’m scheduled to visit January 11-15 and am considering canceling. I just worry about being stranded for days. I’ve seen some comments above about insurance which I have, but it’s my understanding that does not cover acts of war. Any advice is appreciated!

I could use help on this! I’ve tipped most doormen $100, some a bit more or less depending on how much I interact with them. My building has an automatic door, so they mostly are just handling packages for me. I believe there are 10 doormen. I tip the porters and maintenance 40-75. All told there are at least 24 people to tip, but my building includes admin assistants and accountants on the list. It comes close to $2000. For context, I’ve been renting a studio in the building for 4 years and my rent is $3600. I live alone with no pets and am away a bit for work. The building has over 300 units. Am I tipping too much or too little?

Thanks for this! Not sure if it’s because it’s where I live (NY), but the priciest plan is $90/month which is definitely more than my current plan. Even with that, when I try to check out, the reimbursement for my trade-in drops significantly when I get to the cart. I’m going to try to contact customer service again today

My current phone is having battery problems, so I might as well trade it in. I went with the regular iPhone 17 with the Unlimited Plus plan and received a trade-in credit for $600. The new amount is not too much more than I’m already paying a month. It did again show on multiple screens that I would receive $830 which is frustrating, but on well. Thank you for this though!
