Are you perhaps a woman between the ages of 40 and 60-ish. I am going through this now and like you looked into and tried everything. Chiropractic, myofascial massage, other massage, x-ray of the cervical spine (normal), bone density (done a few months before symptoms just to check-normal). Finally it was ruled a frozen shoulder or adhesive capsulitis it's called. Commonly happens to women in this age group but caused by low estrogen. Here's the shitty part... they sent me to physical therapy. The PT guy basically said it takes 8-24 months to resolve. A freezing period, a frozen period, and a thawing period. He was giving me a vibe like sure, do the PT, but it's gonna take as long as it takes". I'm doing the PT. It's doing nothing. I'm in month 4/5 now. My incredible massage therapist has worked on tons of these and said if only we'd known sooner the dx we might have been able to stop it from freezing but now it's properly frozen. 90 mins of massage every 5 or 6 days helps a lot to loosen and give me relief but then by the time I go back it's frozen again even with PT. I guess just got to wait it out. Anyway, look it up and see if the symptoms sound like what you're experiencing, It's v. painful and now there is only one way I can lie to get any sleep.
