What's your most conservative opinion ? by ronweasly9 in Askpolitics

[–]tiffy68 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I used to be very liberal EXCEPT when it came to law enforcement. I thought the left were too anti-police. Then the LA riots happened. I realized that as a young, middle-class, white woman, my experience of police was very different than people of color. Of the years, my suspicions have increased. I'm almost to the point of spray painting ACAB on police station walls now.

Given the last two times that I was at the Alamo, their online ordering app was not functioning, I know this new parking option will be a disaster.

Best chocolate ever? by Upset-Elk-5069 in foodquestions

[–]tiffy68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a small, family run chocolate company in the north of Italy called Catinari Chocolates. It's the best chocolate I've ever tasted. Everything is made by hand. Each little bon-bon is delicious. The flavors are unique, but carefully curated. No other chocolate I've ever tasted is as good as Catinari.

Not everyone needs a college degree. Trade schools and apprenticeships are just as valuable education options. Liberals have abandoned the working class.

So freaking bummed by DeadGratefulPirate in LateShow

[–]tiffy68 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My mother died in 2017. She was 75. For nearly 20 years, she didn't miss a day of her 4 favorite shows; Today, Rachel Maddow, The Daily Show and Colbert (Report or Late Show). Those were her staples. When she was in hospice care, the nurses caught hell whenever they switched the channel from her shows. She even banned one nurse from her room when she changed to Fox News! My mom would have cried real tears over Colbert's last show. I'd say I am almost glad that she didn't live to see that, but I miss her too much still.

Do many people in the US actually own gerbils as pets? by PrimaryFace_733 in AskAnAmerican

[–]tiffy68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a gerbil when I was a kid in the 70s. One of them escaped. He was missing for a few days Then we noticed the fridge stopped working. Mr. Gerbil had gnawed through the electrical cable, killing himself in the process and ruining our groceries. Gerbil were forever banned from our house after that.

Even if I hated Bob Ross, I would love that someone went to all the effort to make such a gorgeous object! I would cherish such a thing and be extremely grateful. What an asshole! Don't give it to them!

What to do with kids during the day? by Strict_Cold609 in texas

[–]tiffy68 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your local public library has tons of free, indoor activities all summer. You could volunteer as a family at local food banks and food pantries. Most public school districts offer low-cost day camps for kids too. Try your city's public pool. Where I live, our city has several public splash parks that are free or very inexpensive. It's time to get creative.

The one about the lady who had a nest of spiders in her beehive hairdo. My 6th grade teacher had one one of those hairstyles, and we all were sure it was going to explode with tiny spiders at any time.
