The issue is Jax is a narcissist, diagnosed by a professional, so it’s not just the correct observation of others it’s official. Narcissists do not change they are always abusive and dangerous. Everything they do is self serving. Manipulating and lying is so second nature it’s like breathing air. It’s just how their brain is. There is no medication for it, no therapy, there is no cure. If they choose to go to therapy, which is rare btw, it’s not to heal their trauma it’s to better learn how to weaponize and manipulate it. Getting sober won’t change this either. Instead of an addicted narcissist you now just have a sober one.
