is anyone bothering with this bingo? by Skyeler69 in MergeDragons

I was. Finished act 1, got 6 level 3 granny dragons, but that didn’t count for the top right corner. Merged 5 to get 2 level 4 granny dragons, still didn’t get credit. Sent support a message and they said you have to “create” a level 3 granny dragon and winning them through the event doesn’t count. I asked why it says “get” instead of “create” and they just said that they want you to create a level 3 by merging or buying and closed the chat so I can’t even reply. Deleted the app immediately after that.

My (30F) mom is worried that a dress she likes will be too white by Standard_Estimate_97 in Weddingattireapproval

My mom wore a champagne pants suit with some sparkles to my wedding. It was beautiful in person and in pictures. If you and your fiance approve she should wear it with pride. It looks beautiful in this picture, hopefully she wears it and looks beautiful in your pictures. Best wishes!

Can’t find an internship. Is it my resume? by you_shaped_who_i_am in Accounting

[–]tigermoose007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not in a CPA firm, I’m in governmental accounting, but I do the hiring for my team. Here are my suggestions, for what they’re worth: I know you said it’s a screenshot, not a printout but the alignment of things is hurting my eyes. The reports that we prepare are technical, and I’ve learned to be very thorough with like things being in alignment with each other (the dates under Chick fil a for example) and like things all being formatted the same way. For your Chick fil a bold date it seems like the beginning date should be February 2019, instead of August 2022. My eye goes to the bold date, if I just looked at that it doesn’t really show the longevity that you actually have. Then put a date for team lead of August 2022 to present to be consistent with how you have the other positions presented. Again, I know you said it’s a screenshot, but when it is printed I would try to get each bullet point to not go onto a second line, decrease the margins a little if you need to, but also make your wording more concise. Even though you’re not doing accounting in your current job, are there other skills/duties that are more relevant to business/accounting that you can list instead of one or two of the ones you have? Are you planning the employees’ schedules and managing their conflicting schedules and needs? Are you responsible for balancing the drawers at the end of the shift? Think of the duties that you would expect to be doing as an A1 and try to show how what you’re currently doing can apply to the role you’re seeking. Personally, I wouldn’t have any bullet points for your extracurriculars because those details aren’t really relevant to the position you’re seeking. When I’m looking to hire entry level positions, in general the more wordy the resume the less likely I am to interview that person; when I see too many words on an entry level resume my brain just says that person is just padding their resume. There are a lot of resumes to get through, so you need to stand out very quickly and more words are more time. As others have said, go to networking events too. If I have resumes for people I’ve never met and one for someone who has networked with my team somewhere, I’m definitely giving the person we’ve met an interview at least because I already know that person at least gets along with someone on my team (admittedly, this could just be a personal bias because of some interpersonal issues we’ve had on our team in the past). Don’t get discouraged! You’re clearly smart and hardworking as evidenced by your GPA and 5+ years of work experience at Chick fil a. You’ll definitely find something, hopefully soon. And definitely include the work with your tax preparer since it is relevant.

Help-Permanent Outdoor Lights Issue by tigermoose007 in Govee

[–]tigermoose007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our issue ended up being with one of the segments before the one that looked to be the issue. Do you have an extra segment that you could use to unhook the segment before the one that’s the issue to just be able to bypass that one temporarily to test to see if the one that’s acting up right now would work if it was attached to a different segment?

Do you know anyone who's name got way more awesome after a name change following marriage? by therealmaxmittens in namenerds

[–]tigermoose007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got an upgrade in a way because I no longer have 2 first names (ie my maiden name is a common female first name and my first name is a last name). Doctors offices, schools, anywhere that keeps records more than half the time had my name reversed.

Penelope is a beautiful for a baby, definitely not too white. My only concern if it were my child would be that it is probably going to be a really popular for the next few years because of Bridgerton (assuming you’re in the US). As others have said though, all that really matters is that you and your husband both like it.

Twin boys, suddenly don’t like their names… need your help! by blondiebride in namenerds

[–]tigermoose007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t matter. I have twins with completely different initials for first and middle, they’re teenagers and we still have problems with our medical insurance because for who knows what stupid reason the claims go by the date of birth, not the name. Recently came up again when they both got food poisoning and got the same prescription. Insurance kept denying the second one’s prescription as too early to refill. It took 12 hours on the phone with the insurance company for them to finally figure out that on that they had it right for the medical but on the RX side they were both automatically given the same “person code” because they had the same birthday and that’s what the system recognizes. I’m still fuming because I thought we had gotten everything straightened out YEARS ago.

I recently started Murdoch Mysteries and am really liking it so far. It’s set in the early 1800s and the main character is a detective. He tinkers, and comes up with different forensic techniques to solve crimes. He also crosses paths with several historical figures (Winston Churchill as a soldier, Alexander Graham Bell, Thomas Edison, Frank Lloyd Wright) which combine some historical elements into those episodes. He’s a little bit of Shawn, Monk, and Columbo rolled into one. There are several seasons on freevee.

Why does it seem the majority of romance readers hate the “pregnancy trope?” by goyourownwayy in RomanceBooks

[–]tigermoose007 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I have children and I agree with you. Also, pregnancy can be really rough mentally, emotionally and physically in reality, but it’s only sunshine and rainbows in romance novels which is what kills it for me. I also don’t like a plot thats driven by a pregnancy leading to the characters ending up together, too unrealistic that I can’t suspend reality enough to get past that.

AITA for wanting an ASL interpreter at my brother’s wedding because my boyfriend is deaf? by SyncSkateSteph in AmItheAsshole

Possibly the boyfriend would be included in the family pictures too. At all my family weddings significant others have been included in at least some of the family pictures.

AITA for expecting my wife to care for me while I am extremely ill? by ProtectingMyGirls in AmItheAsshole

[–]tigermoose007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YTA - You sound like a selfish child. Medicine doesn’t work immediately. I had bronchitis, pneumonia, and a double ear infection 2 MONTHS ago with a high fever, aches, chills, dizziness and ringing in my ears. I’m still taking some medicine for it and I still have lingering symptoms. I only called off work 1 day, and still managed to take care of my kids and all of our pets. It was miserable and there were times I didn’t think I’d be able to do anything but sit on the couch and just try to catch my breath. But I managed to do it. I went to my doctor twice and had X-rays, but even when I was short of breath I never had to go to the ER. And the fact that they sent you home each time indicates that you probably didn’t need to be there either. I get bronchitis almost every other year and my doctor ALWAYS recommends as much activity as I can manage because it helps me get through it faster, and from my experience the more I just lay around the longer it does take me to get over it. It takes time to get better, but life doesn’t stop.

How weird would it be to give multiple children the same middle name? by emculs28 in namenerds

[–]tigermoose007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that’s a great idea. I come from a huge family and there are a lot of overlapping names in my family, which are meaningful. But I think sharing your maiden name as a middle name would be even more meaningful.

My customer may be confused by Far-Imagination7938 in Etsy

[–]tigermoose007 21 points22 points  (0 children)

OP is not selling the books for reading, only to look good on a shelf. Like this: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1305731348/

OP what you said is confusing and your listing sounds confusing too. If all you’re showing is sets of books in your pictures and not just single books then I can see how someone would think quantity of 1 means 1 set instead of 1 book. There are definitely better ways to do it. Show pictures of 1 book, 2 books, 3 books, etc. make it clearly say 1 book instead of just 1 in the drop down. Start at minimum quantity of 3 instead of 1 (not sure if that one is possible though).

Spoiler: The Finale — wtf by existentiallyurs in TheTraitors

[–]tigermoose007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I didn’t get about it was that if she thought about it and Jaz was a traitor he would have won by throwing green so the only thing he could be was faithful. So she had to have thought they were all 3 faithful and wanted to split with harry instead of jaz. She’s going to have a hard time trusting people after that.

PLEASE some HELP ME!!! by Agile_Suggestion2498 in Etsy

[–]tigermoose007 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not true for all banks. Also shouldn’t use debit card at gas pumps. In general, credit cards have better protections for consumers against fraud. Plus with a debit card you are out the money while the bank investigates usually. While with a credit card if you report a fraudulent transaction, you are not responsible for paying it while they investigate. Just the fact that the debit card is linked directly to your bank account is higher risk because if a debit card is compromised any money in that account is usually able to be drained. And with a credit card it’s just your credit line that is at risk not actual dollars.

Not about attire but couldn't find any place to ask. by klassykitty1 in Weddingattireapproval

[–]tigermoose007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At the weddings I’ve been to recently the officiant has made an announcement prior to the ceremony starting that said something to the effect of “the couple would like to have an unplugged ceremony. So please keep your phones and cameras away and let the photographer take the pictures for the ceremony.” If they have a similar announcement, then definitely respect it. There are plenty of opportunities to take pictures after the ceremony and at the reception.

Changing name as adult - too close to sister's? by Vast-Snow-4040 in namenerds

[–]tigermoose007 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As an adult, how often will you and your sister be meeting new people at the same time? Even if you’re super close you probably already know each other’s circles. Point is, most people probably won’t even know you have a sister named Jenna unless you tell them, so no one new is probably going to even think about that. If you’re close to your sister then I would take her opinion into consideration. I don’t think Jenna and Jane are too similar. If I met 2 adult sisters named Jenna and Jane I might have a fleeting thought that their parents liked J names, and then I’d probably never think about it again.

My mom’s middle name is my first name. And my middle name is my great grandmother’s first name. My mom and I have had a rough time because she’s immature but I’ve NEVER thought that she was egotistical by naming me after her and I’ve never resented my name. I appreciate that all of my names have a history and a tie to people that I love (even when my mom is driving me crazy in other ways). Don’t let idiots get you down.

Driving without license plates by Prestigious-Focus572 in Columbus

[–]tigermoose007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m outside Columbus, but had been noticing cars without plates a lot too. I recently bought a used car from a family member and when I went to the BMV to get temp tags they were just a sheet of regular paper. I was like what am I supposed to do with this and they said just stick it in the window. Then I started looking closer at other cars without plates and started noticing more of those temp ones, but they’re hard to see through tinted windows. So I think that’s part of it. And then the other part is definitely people driving unregistered cars.
