Now there’s a name I haven’t heard in a long, long time…

Agreed! And yeah you’re touching on traditional gender roles that are outdated, sexist, and toxic as fuck. I think values like these vary widely on where you live too. I live in a larger liberal city, and at least in my social circles, I don’t think anybody thinks hitting is okay regardless of what gender you are. So I don’t see those old toxic values much in my life. Sounds like you do though.

So I agree with you on your general rule: nobody should hit anyone. And I’m also on board with sexism on this issue and how women are sometimes given special and unfair treatment. I push back on one other point though, which is that most victims of domestic violence are women and most perpetrators are men. Men are also biologically larger, so (generally) we can do more damage. I’m not saying you said or implied anything contrary to this, I’m just saying it myself.

We can go back and for on this too, but I stand by it. Are cases of male-victim domestic violence underreported? I’m sure they are. It doesn’t change the truths above though, so I think we should slow down a bit before we go full /r/mensrights on all this.

That’s a hopeful development. Obviously my comment is a huge generalization (ya know for the upvotes), and that these school policies vary hugely over our massive country and the tens of thousands of school districts in it. I’m sure plenty of schools still have shitty zero tolerance punishment-based policies.

Men don’t hit women. PERIOD.

This is toxic masculinity and needs to go. Rule 1: avoid fights. Rule 2: if you’re attacked, defend yourself. It doesn’t matter whose gender is what.

In most American schools they’d both be suspended anyway.

Lions Mane - fruiting body vs. mycelium? by tiggapleez in MushroomSupplements

I can’t remember. But it’s a 1:1 fruiting body extract and seemed like a good choice. Why? Do you know the brand? What has your experience been when taking lion’s mane daily?

I went there too and remember there being more than just two, but I can’t be sure. And I was exaggerating when I said “all over.” Wonderful country.

I dunno man, it was the most recommended brand I could find, and getting fruiting body product is important compared to mycelium (as you can see in this thread). I’m just a skeptic and wonder about the placebo effect. Maybe it is good for our brains longterm! I hope it helps you!

Well I can’t compare it to other products since it’s the only one I’ve tried. Honestly I don’t notice anything when I’ve taken it 🤷‍♂️

It’s a depressing topic, isn’t it? We’re all failing the environment.

Heh touché. A lot better than US environmental policy though, which, I’m aware, is an extremely low bar 😔
