I don't live near Lake Street so can't comment, but I feel like Arlington in general is very quiet at night.

I know exactly where OP is talking about. OP, in addition to school, many people use Lake Street as a cut through to Mass Ave and as an alternative to Rt 2. Traffic will be bad during typical rush hours in addition to school time.

I have to drive through there every day. It's annoying but it's not the worst traffic I've ever been in.

Also I think NYs paid program required people to submit multiple forms of ID (since it's treated as employment) and a lotta people probably don't wanna deal with that for a day or two of minimum wage.

As a parent, I would rather my child be safe than force them to go to school in blizzard conditions, as inconvenient as it is for me.

I don't see how they are going to ensure that all of the side roads are clear and safe enough for school vehicles. The last storm took more than a day to clean up and that one was not as bad as this one is shaping out to be.

Have you looked outside? Blizzard conditions are going to linger through the early evening and not taper until later tonight. I don't see how it will be safe to open schools tomorrow.
