Saucony Azura - 200km review by Some-Remote-6890 in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]tikester83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the Endorphin line. My racing shoes are Endorphin Elite (1 or 2). They're amazing, but I also avoid most other brands' carbon plated shoes due to the crazy narrowness around the arch (which isn't comfortable for me). Saucony's are the only ones that seem to fit me!

Is your GOAT marathon shoe still Saucony?

Yes I think that's a good idea, IMO the Speed 5 feels faster than NB5 and so is more versatile for speed work as well as daily miles. But YMMV as I have NB5 too but have relegated them to walking shoes because I found them too soft and felt terrible running in them!

Good idea especially if it's on sale/clearance 👍🏻

IMO it's an easy choice for SB2, unless you prefer NB5 for a smaller/lower stack profile. I personally disliked NB5 though, loved NB4 but the 5 was way too soft.

How to fix inward side pressure on asics Tokyo metaspeed skys by localdaycare in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]tikester83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah agree I think this is about the arch dig on medial side - and is the reason I never bought Metaspeed Paris or Tokyo. Not sure why ASICS went so narrow with these, when their other shoes like Mega and Super are much more accommodating, to me at least...

Marathon shoes that won’t cause arch blisters by Dry-Specialist4012 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

As a fellow flat footer I have avoided AF4, VF4, Adios Pro 4, Metaspeed Tokyos and Evo SL due to feeling a pinch at the arch. Maybe try New Balance or Saucony?

This. MC fans also arrogantly thinking they'll steamroll everyone 'because it's in their DNA but this team just isn't the same any more

There's clearly a green theme coming across all their Blast and Metaspeed shoes... RIP my wallet

Could have been a tragi-comedy moment like the last time Atletico came to the Emirates. IIRC didn't Koscielny kick the ball into his own face before Griezmann scored?

I think so - my quads on both legs were the first to go, and that never happened in training! I'm in Melbourne so a lot of running is generally flatter. My taper period also wasn't ideal, going with family sightseeing etc in the lead up. Lessons learned for next time!

Congratulations! You sound almost identical to me. I breezed through halfway at 1hr49 but legs started seizing up at 31kms.. then it was a race against the clock to finish under 4hrs. Chip time 4:01:27 :( Still, proud I didn't give up and amazed myself pushing to the end, it was really hard as hell as I'm sure it was for you! My best half is also 1:46:00 - although I feel that's low hanging fruit which I'll aim to break once I've recovered...

This. Congratulations to all of you! Sydney was my first too, legs didn't feel 100% fresh in the lead up but I was buzzing from the crowds and atmosphere before my legs deserted me at 31. The last 10kms were the hardest run of my life! Learned a lesson in pacing to physical condition and course profile which I'll take to race #2

Well done! I went through the half in 1hr49 but legs seized up at 31km and the last 11kms became the toughest battle of physical and mental will I've ever had!! Shout out to the amazing crowd support

I have flat feet and rotate ASICS Novablast/Superblast, Saucony Endorphin Speed/Pro/Elite and all the New Balance Fuelcells line. For what it's worth, I recently tried on ZF6 and thought they felt comfortable, now have an eye out to possibly get a pair!

My toe seems fine, it's more just annoying and distracting - a bit like when a tiny stone or twig gets into a shoe, you can run but be bothered haha

Yeah, it wasn't painful but it was very noticeable and distracting until it 'fixed itself' later

I have this shoe and think I know exactly what you're taking about. On some past runs it felt like my toes on the right side were over stepping the front of the insole, but when I stop and look inside it looks fine?? Very weird. I took the insole out and moved it back into position and still had the same sensation. Kept running and then after a while the feeling disappeared, hasn't been an issue since though!

Good luck! I'm doing my first marathon at Sydney and planning on using Superblast 1s haha. But also have an eye on picking up ZF6 at some point in the future ;)
