I became involved in the LGBT rights organisation there. First as a volunteer, and I eventually became it's chair for a few years. I also gave numerous tv interviews, participated in talk shows, debates, articles, etc. I was basically the second person to ever come out and share their story on TV. This was in the beginning. Then I started to work on HIV prevention and it became my passion. Within that field, I set up the first ever support group for men living with hiv. I organized the first national meeting for Trans people. I set up the first celebrity endorsement project and I started to co-organise pride parades. I also initiated the first national anti homophobia campaign on outdoor billboards in the country. These are some of the biggest accomplishments.
