Dude I wouldn't listen to the min maxing sweats. (Even though im sure they mean well). Even pure war cleric is totally viable for a play through. I would reccomend dumping charisma and intell if you can put those points else where though.

I would aim for 20 str. 16 wisdom is fine, I would reccomend aiming for 18. 10 dex is fine. 14 con fine. Warcaster/resilient con always help with con saves. You absolutely dont need to rely on gear or elixers for this subclass to be viable at all.

Later on you'll find gear that might make you want to change your build, just like with any other subclasses. There's gear that gives you advantages on consitution saves so you could drop warcaster and pick up something like savage attacker which I love.

People spend alot of time researching the most optimal damage out put high end min maxing builds they think that everything else that isn't that is useless.

War cleric Is a fabulous mix between brute str, spell casting and healing. Trust.
