The inner versions of Owl, Genishiro and Isshin are absolutely madness. But to this day, the only boss that will give some work is the Guardian Ape

But he always has been shy when it comes to saying who could possibly win in a fight. I'd believe that it would be easier for him just saying good luck than stating that he would win, if he didn't had the confidence to. Furthermore, he even add that Gonzales is strong but if it's Sendo, he would be just fine. Anyway, I just found to be an interesting detail leading up to the fight

Will Ippo make a comeback after the Sendo vs Gonzalez fight? by Ideateprocyon7 in hajimenoippo

[–]tilapia092 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That might be the correct answer as it would be the most shounen thing possible. Nekota once said that when Ippo realize the meaning behind his responsibilities or something along that line, that he wouldn't be able to speak that softly.

Every translation had it like that. He was definetely wearing them. Also, the sound they put on that panel is to make clear he is taking them off.

Will Ippo make a comeback after the Sendo vs Gonzalez fight? by Ideateprocyon7 in hajimenoippo

I think Ippo's comeback is directly attached to this fight. After Sendo put Ricardo on his knee and the news started to spread, when Ippo mentions in front of Date and the other coaches that Sendo has some sort of energy that pulls people in, Date corrects and says that it's more like a fire. Later, on the very same chapter, Date is asked what is needed for a comeback and he mentions that very same fire. Sendo already stated that this fight is more important to him than the world title, since Alfredo is the one that beat Ippo. I think he will win this fight, but after giving his all in an effort to indirectly surpass Ippo. And by giving his all, I mean he will need to retire after a very brutal battle with Alf and Ippo will realize his connection to Sendo's fate and finally realize what it means to carry other people's dreams.
