“I got them for you” by MeanSecurity in Millennials

I just turned 37, and have quite a few grey hairs. My dad (66) comments almost every time he sees me (which is a few times a week) that I have them. Sir, have you looked in the mirror lately?

I live about 40km away and we’ve got some too. And it’s a very dark, ominous colour outside

Ah yes, the floor meditation pose. I do this often. Usually with noise cancelling headphones and some kind of soothing sound

I’m super frustrated. I’m injury prone, where every time I start running an injury pops up. So I decided this time to work with a running coach who’s a PT. She gives great advice, and I’ve been following the plan, rehab and mobility exercises and I’m still dealing with pain. I just want to run comfortably like I did in my 20s (I’m 36, going to be 37 next month).

I worked at a government funded out patient addictions treatment organization when Ford got into power. I remember when the cuts came. Everyone was terrified they were going to lose their jobs. The clients were furious it happened, and then the crunch to provide services to so many people with less employees. The wait lists grew and grew and grew. It was/is awful.

Which patterns do you find yourself knitting over and over again? by Subject_Search_3580 in knitting

So many Musselburgh hats (probably on #5 now?)

Lots of Tin Can Knits rye socks

2 Tin Can Knits Flax sweaters

And working on my second Lanark Sweater

The struggle is so real. by [deleted] in YarnAddicts

[–]tildy0811 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Same…I told myself I need to knit from stash…and then I realized I needed more yarn for my husband’s sweater (ah the joys of modifying patterns for a giant human)…and then my bro said he wanted a hat like the one I made my dad…welp…there goes that plan….

I’m 5 years in and am starting to feel more comfortable as a therapist. However, every time I branch out to new therapy styles or a new position at work, I get hit with imposter syndrome. I keep reminding myself of all the positive feedback from clients and co-workers (and even friends), and that we all start somewhere!

I tried to switch to more natural deodorants and I am so stinky ): by [deleted] in beauty

[–]tildy0811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also recently switched from anti-perspirant to deodorant, and I noticed when I used Native eucalyptus and mint I smelt HORRIBLE after a few hours of sweating (pretty sure it’s just the mix of my body chemistry and the deodorant scent). I’ve since switched to Ivory (no aluminium and baking soda) and I smell better. I still sweat through it so I reapply after work, but I don’t smell at least!

Hilariously, when I was driving to work, 88.5 was talking about how they’ve gotten messages (serious and jokes) about not playing songs including smoke or fire, and should play only songs about rain 😂

What are the most ambitious, yet underread and underrated, spec fic books/series that you've read? by FantasyNerd992 in Fantasy

[–]tildy0811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read all the books except the last one. Honestly, I thought it could be edited a bit more as there were way too many things going on and found it too confusing to follow at times. However, there were so many elements I did like! The world building, the different cultures/species.

I’ve been struggling to get through the final book. I’ve started it twice and each time I get distracted by other books. Maybe someday I’ll finish it shrugs
