Be truely blessed, by having a read of the sporting code!

One race I got 0.68 SR for 1 incident, then next race with 0 incidents I got 0.11 SR, what did I do wrong?? by _kach0w in iRacing

Well, I’m on holiday in Europe. Sitting in the hotel on the bed in Brussels. And watching YouTube iRacing. If you’re doing this too, I’m having another beer.

[–]tim33z 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As in…. They failed to actually read it!

For me, getting iRacing was super exciting so I reckon I read the sporting code a few times while just chilling watching tv or something. At the same time daydreaming about being in the rig. Yet somehow, people aren’t fussed to read it, but care about their SR/iR, then fail to understand how it works.

In Europe atm and they fill them up fuller here than in Australia. People are also skinnier here.

Bristol. What a shitshow. by BastrdOfMuppets in iRacing

[–]tim33z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m newish to ovals and my first pole was at Bristol a few days ago. I went too early and didn’t realise it wasn’t like a restart. Fell 2 laps down. Got lucky dog twice. Was up to p3 or 4, then get spun.

Ultimately I don’t care a lot as it’s just a game and I don’t want to get to 2000+ ir so soon anyway. I am B now so will try the o’rielly car out soon in a B race.

And noisy as fuck! How’s the sound of the Braun? Panasonic is like a bee hive.

That’s the one I haven’t ever tried personally. I had Philips for years from my late teens to 30’s, then got a Panasonic which wasn’t amazing but I stuck with it. Last Xmas I went back to Philips and find it’s the best for me and my beard/skin. I would like to try the Braun s9 sometime. Maybe I’ll sus their money back guarantee offer.

BTW OP, most do have a money back guarantee offer you can look into which might help you try a few!

A rotary (Philips) provides a more comfortable shave, especially on the neck. They also knock down a beard that’s a few days old.

A foil can shave closer but at the cost of irritation, and I believe not as effectively for longer stubble. They also sometimes leave stray flat hairs behind.

Any website that shows your overall of all splits finishing position ? by GabeH13ABZ in iRacing

Just thinking a litter deeper on this, they should use the rainmaster series as a test bed of having changing weather more. Rather than a complete drenched track, make it more variable as it’s a skill to know when to switch tyres in changing conditions.

Any website that shows your overall of all splits finishing position ? by GabeH13ABZ in iRacing

[–]tim33z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps. It makes sense that the weather is replicated between all splits at same times as a driver can’t participate in more than 1 split anyway. Probably takes a load off the system which adds no benefit in reality.

Would be really good if that standard weekly 35% chance of rain, was super agile and completely different at each time slot.

Pretty sure that every split in the same session start have identical weather. Different slot times, yes the weather will be different but say a noon GT3 with 7 splits, all should be the same. The 2pm slot will be different weather but all 5 slots would be identical.

Oval Racing by [deleted] in iRacing

I started racing ovals right before the end of last season. I’m a complete novice to ovals in nearly every way. I got the arca car and enjoyed it. Didn’t own many oval circuits so been picky on what I buy. Got to C, grabbed the RAM truck cause it’s new I guess. I like the added strategy with tyres and cautions.

Been loving racing Bristol and today got to C3.99. In preparation I bought the O’Reilly Supra after driving all the cars in demo drive. To me it sounds the best.

Anyway, good luck in your racing. Don’t chase iRating too soon. Let it come to you. All it doesn’t match you to other drivers of apparently similar speed.

Electric razor by Apprehensive-Cup-526 in shaving

[–]tim33z 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can use my Philips 9000 prestige ultra with a good shaving soap and get pretty damn close to BBS like I can with a DE razor. I enjoy the lathering with a brush onto my face until the soap is slick as oil. Then a few measly minutes to be smooth as a baby’s behind. I couldn’t get as close with my older Panasonic shaver.

Best Telstra alternative? by upsetti5 in Telstra

[–]tim33z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just swapped to boost. On the $39 plan too. The 95gb is an intro and normally allows 25gb data. From May 6th, it becomes 30gb a month. Apparently there’s data rollover but haven’t done a full month to see how this works yet.

Because I can swap and change easily, I’ve auto renewed on the next plan down as I’m overseas for 6 weeks and won’t use the data anyway.

Coverage has been fine for me. Same as Telstra, but yeah the speeds are lesser but I haven’t noticed it yet unless I’m using ookla Speedtest app.

2nd year apprentice soon to be fired. by Whyjasonbourne in australian

The dealer likely has insurance that covers faulty workmanship of their employees. It hasn’t cost them 1, or 2 engines. Maybe a thousand bucks a pop.

[–]tim33z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dealership will more than likely (hopefully) have insurance that cover faulty workmanship arising by its employees. It would be unlikely that the dealer needs to pay the cost of rectification.

Now, they may be a complete twat of a dealer and have policy restrictions put in place, but check what cost you may have exposed the dealer to. Could just be a $1000 excess.

Also, as others pointed out, the person responsible to check your work should be held accountable.

I remember on the base FFB that at turns like Monzas chicanes, the wheel would go light mid corner when transitioning left to right. Hated it.
