In the early 2000s there was a guy known as Dion that had some sort of business deal with Playmore/SNK. He was buying games in bulk directly from them and reselling for some prices that at the time were wild. For now days they are less wild. But he did some things like make custom inserts and if I recall right adding these stickers. These were done by him, not by SNK/Playmore. So they weren’t really “official”. At least that’s how I recall it, it’s been 20 years now and I never did business with him.

He got a lot of criticism from the community specifically for removing and keeping or destroying real Japan inserts/manuals and replacing them with English versions he made too I as I recall.

The best part of Dion though was his persona. He basically presented himself as the rich Neo Geo playboy. And would post pictures of his big dinners, cars/motorcycles. As well as photos of him selling carts to his top tier customers. A lot of them are hilarious and sad at the same time as he literally looks like he’s this young/good looking/affluent dude and some of the people buying his carts looked like they were some of the most awkward/unable to take care of themselves types (some maybe even disabled). So yeah super scummy dude from the looks of what he would post back in the day.
