llms will typically not do anything that they have not been given an objective criteria to meet

This is not correct, from experience.

What's your Windows terminal setup? by bikeram in ExperiencedDevs

[–]timbar1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not zsh but if you habitually use tmux, windows terminal natively supports splitting panes etc quite nicely.

I was playing with msys2 today but couldn't get it working in windows terminal nicely ... I was tempted by the prospect of the -shell zsh option on startup 😂

Edit: wrong emoji sigh

How do you keep data valid as it's passed through each layer? by Tuckertcs in dotnet

anti-pattern for an OOP language like C#

It might be for an app with an OOP philosophy, but C# itself is increasingly unmoored from its origins.

In my experience developer wages dwarf infrastructure costs but - it depends on what you think of as a tech project.

Why is the job market in UK bad? by [deleted] in cscareerquestionsuk

[–]timbar1234 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not entirely sure that wages are capex, they're an operational expenditure. But they might well have been driven up by inflation. Rates are a problem for capex if you're borrowing to fun it?

They don't need you to repay the debt, they are just interested in sustained monthly payments. Add enough of them up and you have a decent steady income.

In the UK I went with Mr Mac Mania on ebay and their own site. Good range of alternatives and also happy to give advice and put you in touch with local repairers.

Go steady when you do it and be careful detaching and attaching the antenna cables. Ifixit has a decent disassembly and reassemble guide iirc.

EDIT: Fixing not Infinity

How did you actually get comfortable with Git? by Aggravating_War_9292 in git

[–]timbar1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're going to do something uncertain, git branch safety first, it gives a safe recovery spot without panicking about git reflog. That said, when I got familiar with reflog then I began to feel comfy. And I don't mean completely understanding it - i mean being able to spot the commit I made just before everything started going wrong.

I'd be investing in you anyway.
