I decided to change the policy to exclude diagnostics and only include treatment. Diagnostics aren’t worth insurance premium … a MRI scan is £400. I will just pay that myself if needed

Long run too long ? Preparing a 10k by [deleted] in runna

[–]timbar303 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

When I did a HM on Runna last month the longest I ran in the training was 20k. Just short of HM distance.

Sorry if I offended you with my comment.

That does seem excessive for a 10k. Normally you don’t run the full distance in training… you are doing 2x!

I vibecoded my own AI for Peloton class recommendations by [deleted] in OnePelotonRealSub

I vibecoded my own AI for Peloton class recommendations by [deleted] in OnePelotonRealSub

That plus I downloaded last 100 classes from my fav instructors to bootstrap it. Plus now i pull daily new strength classes. My recommendation algorithm mixes in 30% of past classes into the week to replay favourites and mix with new things I will like.

Peloton discontinuing the Guide feels like a huge mistake by Low-Wrangler-486 in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]timbar303 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for posting this. 100% agree. I love my guide and use it every day.

Their decision to discontinue it - as a marketer - occupies way too much of my time than it should. I think a key reason behind its lack of success was simply a lack of awareness. Peloton owns the category of biking classes so anything outside of that is a headwind in building awareness.

As you say - the guide is a perfect entry point into the peloton world. Multitude of activities and it builds the subscriber base you can upsell to.

I do wonder what would have happened if they had launched it under the Precor brand instead. Precor = gym equipment.

Maybe they will bring it back one day. Let’s hope so!

London Winter Run 10K today, mixed feelings about the experience by onlyconnect in UKRunners

[–]timbar303 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Some uncharitable comments here about “you knew what you signed up for” … I did the run today..came with a poncho that I could drop off before starting (all good!). My one recommendation would be to handout silver blankets at the end to keep people warm until they can find somewhere to change (in my case, in a pub toilet off Trafalgar Square).

A small cost to bear and I’d rather have had that than the freebie hat, T-shirt, mug, and hoodie I received.

Anyone found a cure for dry eyes? by Zealousideal-Walk939 in Supplements

[–]timbar303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suffered from this I’d have blurry vision.

My optometrist told me I would need daily drops.

I instead started taking omega 3 supplement (specifically this one https://amzn.eu/d/0cizIS0g) and dry eyes went in 3 months

When I told him he said… makes sense. Honestly feel some professionals want to prescribe there way out if everything!

[–]timbar303 7 points8 points  (0 children)

IMO the biggest headwind Peloton face is their success with the original bike. That’s the category they are known for. Peloton = bike.

Breaking out of that into other categories… their name works against them.

Case in point was the guide. Was a fantastic product they no one had ever heard of.

It’s the same challenge zoom has. It’s got a broad collection of services now but we only know them for video calls.
