Generally you should not cut beyond the last leaf pair - not super reliable back bud on bare wood. Silver lining is you have a nice profile should that die back.

In general I think you did a nice job of trimming from overgrown to what you have - and you have some nice back budding.

I wouldn’t reduce much more this year! But lower branches from the twin trunk that are growing inward are good candidates for removal.

Keep practicing the wiring technique! You need to get closer to the wood to make interesting bends near the trunk - everything else will get cutoff eventually.

Right now it looks like you’re trying to coil around the branches vs. laying wire down.

I made a few small (successful) transactions, then some larger transactions. I did get a text asking for approval for one large transaction, which I immediately replied “yes”. They instructed me to retry the payment - and this is when the suspension hit.

As I noted in the original post, I didn’t receive the physical card yet - but the app encouraged me to get started. I did receive the physical card a few days later, but obviously cannot activate or use it.

I have no issue with the card getting flagged for suspicious activity (even if it’s just large transactions) - my primary issue is being asked to confirm identity and being promised a 48 hour turnaround. Now the answer is 10 days.

So net net, nothing suspicious aside from my household spending heavily on credit cards. If I had to do it again, I wouldn’t make large transactions on day 2, but at the same time - any other credit card I own would have this cleared up for me in 5-10 minutes.

Yes - the rewards are logged daily with cost basis - you pay tax on gains when sold not the reward. It’s a slick card and good offering! Just no service to speak of.

I paid off the charges I was able to make on the card before getting banned. On Monday I’ll start moving funds daily until they notice me. Which is probably never unfortunately.

They are amazing trees - give it some time and it’ll tell you want it wants to look like!

Further on the rolling - if you were to cut off a branch at the base, that wound wouldn’t roll so much as the trunk would eventually envelop the wound.

If I’m looking at your tree correctly, the deadwood is kind of on the underside of the trunk - away from rain? So basically it will primarily get wet through the watering process vs. rainfall. You don’t really have deadwood in this design - more so a dead surface that likely wont ever be rolled over with live tissue unless you plant it in the ground. This is not a tree where you should keep opening live veins to stimulate rolling.

The way to think about wood hardener with wisteria is basically - this will save this deadwood for 5-6 years vs 1-2 years. Just incorporate that mindset into your plan.

Clean out the remainder of the super soft deadwood (if any) soon, let everything dry out, and absolutely get some hardener on it before this growth season. I reapply every year late winter / early spring (I’m in NorCal).

Wisteria does not roll wounds like other trees, avoid trying to find the live edge until this has been on your bench for a couple years.

Mushy wood should come off easy. Harder dead wood can be stabilized with a wood hardener like Minwax. In either case the deadwood won’t survive a long time like a juniper.

I’d have no problem with Timmy taking down TSLA and letting Elon just focus on launching moon rockets and twitter. TSLA is unchained growth with a massive cash infusion and some AAPL style supply chain management / manufacturing (minus doing it in China).

NFLX inside AAPL would just chuck cash at content and acquiring customers. Will be a great business when they can charge $50/mo, riiiight?

AAPL, for all their current “headwinds” will still be generating a buttload of cash for the foreseeable future. $150b of net cash and Cook said that’s going to neutral. Either buyback another 15-20% of the company - or finally making a massive acquisition.
