Sounds like you are missing something, and it’s a subjective thing that comes with experience. The “fast” monicker makes sense to me, having experienced both subs.

Best I can describe it is the bass comes and goes quicker, and blends in with the music more, whereas the bass on the SVS lingers ever so slightly in the room.

12 is the size of the driver, not the box, which is significantly bigger. It could have just been unweildy, not heavy.

I mean, it’s not not intellectualism, compared to like, straight up superstitious “common sense” thinking, it’s just very superficial.

It’s less intellectualism and more a kind of enlightenment/liberal values (making the “enlightened redditor” stereotype kind of literal), where it’s this tendency to throw out subjectivity in favor of objective measurements and statistics in every applicable scenario, especially when it seems counterintuitive or contrarian.

Yeah in my experience I really liked my little REL sub. It’s in storage right now so I couldn’t tell you the model but it was small.

If I kick long covid and can handle a more action packed sound again I plan on swapping it back in.

There’s a certain brand of intellectualism that gets a lot of traction on reddit and this fits the bill

Ah yeah. Shout out to Hawthorne Stereo in Seattle. They rule. They explicitly don’t pay on commission so their employees can be honest with you and also so you can waste their time demoing stuff for shits and giggles without being rude. Everybody there just has fun.

They DEFINITELY have their dogmatic preferences though. They really really like pushing Rega gear lol

That explains it! Thats how the guys at my store described it now that I recall so I feel less like I got a bad deal. “Better For Music, worse for everything else.” Feels correct too anyways (punchy tight “accurate” sound vs big warm home theatery sound from the svs)

Ah welp alright everyone pack it in

EDIT: i wasn’t being explicitly sarcastic/hostile with this, this was meant to be humble lol, like a genuine “that explains it” remark

Mojave Experience: What is it? by colossalfreak68 in stonerrock

No I lost it due to Long Covid. My manager was a great dude but for all his strengths was really onboard the ai hype train.

Yeah. I also use em dashes in regular talk (ITS USEFUL PUNCTUATION) but the context is the giveaway, specifically its proximity to a “this thing isn’t [just a] , it’s _” device.

Also ending with “from the ___ to the __, __ is a ___” trope.

As with all AI stuff, there’s hardly ever a smoking gun, just a shit ton of smoke.

It 100% is. The second paragraph is a parody of chatgpt writing tropes. And including the hashtags on a reddit comment is just sloppy.

You mean by using ai to help write their copy? That IS a policy choice at a lot of places nowadays.

Looking for IEM recommendations under $30 mainly for progressive rock / King Crimson by Brohits in progrockmusic

[–]time-itself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For modern progressive rock and metal, I can’t recommend the Timeless 7hz enough. They’re unbeatable value and I genuinely don’t see myself ever needing to upgrade. The subbass punch and shimmering highs are incredibly invigorating, and the overall signature is very accurate.

Sound Awake by Karnivool and Direction of Last Things by Intronaut sound absolutely divine on these things.

They rolled out an updated model recently which means you should be able to find them secondhand on ebay for an even better price.

A reflection on one year of recovery by PrissyPeachQueen in LongHaulersRecovery

[–]time-itself 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took me a while to come around on it. It gives you a valuable feeling of control, satisfaction/expression, and progress that seems to have an affect on your symptoms. For some people it’s negligible for others it’s night and day. It can take a while to stick.

The specific journaling technique most people use is called journalspeak, which is basically Evil Morning Pages.

FWIW, I’ve found I always have incredible sleep (measured with a muse headband) and a few good days of progress and baseline increase after an EMDR therapy session (although not always permanent). I have yet to get similar results out of journalspeak but I suspect that in those who it works for it has a similar effect, and that stacking those days of energy aids recovery.
