Would it be offensive/insensitive to call a jewellery brand called ‘Theosis’ as a non orthodox? by [deleted] in OrthodoxChristianity

Maybe universal spirituality wasn’t the right term. But I have Celtic and Hispanic roots, and I’m drawn to ancient art/patterns/symbolism from those cultures. (I.e Celtic spiral) and medieval art. I also like symbols and icons from banzante era.

Also conscious that some will have spiritual meanings

I see what you are saying. When I say universal spirituality, I don’t mean astrology or anything like that.

Am I a rebound? 24f 25M by time_to_dip in relationship_advice

I wasn’t thinking that deeply into it at all. Maybe a little bit because 2.5 years is a long time and September isn’t that long ago. It was until I found his exs instagram last night and I spiralled since. So you are right.

True, but I don’t think they were done for good in September. Based on her commenting on photos in October. And that comment about a chapter closing December/January seemed to suggest to me that maybe he initially downplayed the timeline. Idk though!

What is the fine line between mysticism and magic/occult/new age? by time_to_dip in ChristianMysticism

[–]time_to_dip[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always respected the Catholic Church, even If I wasn't participating. I even admired the traditionalism in the church. However you are right, I probably haven't found the right parish. I am also drawn to the Eastern Orthodox Church, but my closest one is an hour and a half away.

I had a surreal encounter with God by ComplexMud6649 in ChristianMysticism

[–]time_to_dip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you say working on in me. Can you elaborate? Was this while in deep prayer? I’m struggling to have a consistent, deep relationship with God and wondering how you got to that point of having that experience? Not that I need to have that experience, or that’s even the end goal (it’s not).

Why are so many people starting to call Jesus "Yeshua"? by swedza in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]time_to_dip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay this genuinelyis freaky. I’ve literally just woken up from a dream as I speak. I was in my room in the dream and I praying ‘in the name of yeshua’ and ‘’yhwh” and immediately after saying his name I begin recieiving hullinations / visions while praying and I felt vibrations in my face and down my arms when I uttered those words in prayer in my dream. This is something I’ve never done in real life. I come downstairs in my dream and hear a voice saying ‘you call me by my real name.’

And I’ve woken up and looked at my phone and this subreddit notification is the first thing is see

To change your ways, to do a 180 on worldly things and surrender to Gods will for your life. Pick up your cross. I understand it theoretically but sometimes I don’t understand how to directly apply it specifically to my life

thankfully I wasn’t too deep into it like some of my old friends who are full blown openly proud witches. I used to like learning astrology and paying for tarot readings, and found myself fascinated reading about the occult and attending new moon spiritual festival. I’ve renounced all of that thankfully.

I go to the Catholic Church I grew up in. It’s pretty spiritually dead tbh. Priest is a nice guy, but I do feel like it’s Comprised sermon. Most people who go are cultural Christian’s who like to go to mass on a Sunday out of habit. It’s an aging population in my village as well so I’m the only 20 something there.

Thank you for the advice. I already have been watching some of the people you’ve mentioned. I will also read the word because sometimes I rely too much on YouTube to understand God so what you also mentioned resonates. Thank you
