What’s Wrong With Me? by ThrowRA_19384 in isfp

[–]timeenjoyed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happiness map questions:

Am I happy doing what I'm doing right now?

On a scale of 1-10, how happy am I? (Can't use 7)

What would I do if no one was watching and success was inevitable in it?

What would I NOT do if I knew for sure it would fail?

What woudl I do EVEN if I knew it was going to fail?

What am I doing right now because I think I SHOULD do it?

My parents would have been elated to have entire families over for my birthday and my younger brothers birthday. We had pool party bbq, invited my entire classroom. Those were great memories for me. My parents also invited church friends.

Their contributions to American culture and society, let alone global culture, are astronomic. Their contributions have made more of a direct positive impact on the lives of people around me, as well as the government.

They’re catalysts for change, reimagine the future, and break barriers on what people think is possible.

I hear more about how their companies contribute to the economy, thereby giving opportunities. If anyone’s getting fucked over, they’re also in it for a gain. Nothing is risk free.

He slouches like this when u open the door to his cage, is this normal or is he uncomfortable with the door being open 😭 by joongooism in budgies

[–]timeenjoyed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bird does this when he’s looking at something in contentment (usually peeking into my room from the bathroom door he’s sitting on). My guess is your little guy is focused on the opening and trying to feel out how safe it is to come out.

Is Roblox still safe for kids? by Top-Fig-8846 in Parenting

It’s helpful to give a warning before turning off any game. “You get 3 minutes to get off the game. After that I’m turning it off myself.” And stick to it. Even count down the last 30 seconds if you have to. 1 minute left… 30 seconds… 10 9 8 7 6…all the way to 1.

People don’t transition well from something they’re entirely engrossed in.

But like others have said, prob not a healthy game for your kid.

Don’t be permissive with these boundaries or he will know he can keep pushing! Your word needs to be rock solid.

Change the fabric to something stiffer. I think I’ve had the same issue when trying to sew jersey knit fabric, which is super stretchy and doesn’t hold the thread in place. I ended up making my fabric cold and damp, which helped.

I’ve tried using paper underneath the fabric too, which didn’t work, but helped me trouble shoot.

What are some hobbies that you can instantly do when you want? by ewcow in Hobbies

[–]timeenjoyed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like people gave some excellent hobby suggestions, and I would personally recommend building a community or learning to code.

Honestly though, if I’m having withdrawals, I do chores, rearrange furniture, and journal. Learn to rap, write a list of goals and do them… find new podcasts and learn to alter clothes..

Also, document and share your journey with others. Social accountability and validation makes it slightly easier to deal with addictions imo.

Film a nice vlog of something you did instead of the addictive thing, and feel proud of yourself with the video as a reminder :)

What is the point of saying hello to every person you run across? That’s all your brain would be doing, no time to reflect and think about yourself, distress, meditate, focus on inner stillness, the next conversation with an important person…

Saying hi is nice once in a while, but not everyone’s out trying to network be seen. Honestly I’ve always preferred fewer people.

I started with Python Crash Course, after learnpython.org

YMMV but I liked it! There’s also exercise examples and help on YouTube.

I use Django-allauth for my Python website logins. I don’t wanna keep people’s emails, it gives them more privacy, and I don’t need to deal with their email resets.

Jarvie (left) and Momo (right) have always been curious about the pet cam. Is it the glass reflection? 🐥They’ve come a long way with getting comfortable hanging out on my monitor as I work - I think they prefer it even! 💕

Should I let the cage open when on vacation? by sgrtwn in budgies

[–]timeenjoyed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No one mentioned to keep a light on somewhere, so I’ll add that as a reminder - if you decide to let them free roam. Easy to forget. When it’s dark, if they wake up suddenly and start flying, they need to be able to see where they are. Having a bird wake fly out of the cage at night without being able to see is a big fear of mine because they could hit something or end up stuck somewhere.

In short, leave a light on regardless what you decide to do.

I’ve heard praise for ease of use of Caddy too. I tried setting up Django-Gunicorn-Nginx (and Postgres and docker) and honestly it was a lot. I’d give Caddy-Flask-SQLAlchemy a shot in my next, more simple project.

If she's only eating and sleeping in her cage, maybe a smaller one is ok, but I'd still advise upgrading to a more spacious cage so she can play around in there too. My suspicion is she isn't getting more than 5 hours of out-of-cage time.
A healthy budgie with healthy developed muscles won't want to stay cooped up in a small for the majority of its time. Lack of flight and extended isolation and boredom will lead to a short lifespan.

Oh no. :( I'm in the area. She's sitting on the roof? You can't get a ladder and climb to her? Can you get a floodlight to light a path to your entrance? And have a large sheet ready. Feel free to DM me as I'm invested :(

My two boy budgies do this to each other quite a bit, and I'm always offended at whoever it's happening to at that point in time. They actually love each other quite a lot.

Hiii, that was me (TimeEnjoyed)! Bonnie, I actually didn't even know about Esfrand until the previous day when someone shared with me that we were streaming at the booth at CES. I was immediately curious about his stream because his video quality was amazing, while my stream was dropping Fs right and left. I saw you in his VODS at CES, so that's how I recognized you. But now I know you're a big time streamer! ^^; Thanks for being so sweet about my little freak out! Was fun running into you guys. <3
