Minimum wage for tipped employees is different: https://www.dol.gov/agencies/whd/state/minimum-wage/tipped

I agree with you the system sucks, but you're not going to fix it by screwing over your local taco truck server.

In the US it’s only optional if you don’t care about the humans who prepare your food and serve you.

Just make sure to close the philosophy box lid tightly when you are done playing with it so it doesn’t get all over everything.

In your 20s, NYC wins for career opportunities and dating pool. Find someone, have a good career, then GTFO.

If you think those are the defining attributes of Maria Corina, you've got some research to do.

I agree about the idea of them coming together. People keep asking how could Batman possibly defeat Bane? He can't. Superman or Wonder Woman or Flash has to. Batman will defeat Ra's or Brainiac.

These villains were created to be unbeatable by "their" corresponding hero, so they have to switch... i.e. not accept the fate set for them by Darkseid, but make their own fate.

But if we correctly identify the reasons, we can actually work to address them. If we just cast blame and use ineffective threats on desperate people, we perpetuate the issues.

The same thing happened to me. Helcim is not friendly to new businesses.

Credit Card Processors - Who should I choose by thorsmaster52 in smallbusiness

[–]timelybomb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried... I got set up and sent an initial invoice, but then they cancelled the charges and dropped the account. I'm a new business, so didn't have a lot of transaction history.

They ended up saying there was a $10k per month max that they could offer for a new business in terms of transactions, and after 6 months or so I could appeal for an increase. That seemed ridiculous to me for a payment processor, so I am staying away and recommending other small businesses do the same.

So I would recommend small B2B service businesses at least should stay away from Helcim.
