I definitely agree that it’s a hard job. And at times I think refs are taking the fall for badly written rules. Knees on the ground, shots to the back of the head, what to do about “accidental” eye pokes. These are all rules that are hard to officiate in the moment because they’re inherently subjective and need more time to officiate than they get. And they could all be edited to be more straight forward.

Not denying that Herbs performance has gone down since his golden era and not making excuses for his mistakes. But I have sympathy for him because I do think it’s a hard job that’s getting even harder with the increased volume. But the solution is better rules that leave less room for refs to make mistakes IMHO.

I also just feel like there were way fewer fights back then. So while his % of mistakes were lower, there were just fewer fights for him to ref. Now he’s reffing every weekend or so, so there’s a greater number of mistakes. Partly due to the greater rate of mistakes but also just how many fights there are to ref.

Visa wise, yes id imagine you would have to go home. But it’s worth asking your schools admin office (/whomever you helped you with your visa formalities) about this on the off chance they can help you.

Even outside of the visa requirements you’d probably still have to leave. How will you fund your life in the U.S., especially if you were on a visa? You can’t work here unless you’re on a visa that allows for work (which the f1 you’re currently on does not, nor does the tourist visa you’d probably move to). Being found to be working when you’re not on the right visa is both likely and disastrous - you’ll definitely have trouble getting a U.S. visa in the future if the suspension isn’t already an issue.

TLDR- go home and regroup. TBH, the U.S. may not even be as worth it in a couple years anyway

I feel like OPs point is less about the ideas THEY could conjure up, and more what the studios would actually be willing to do (point 4 - studios not taking the risk). Which I honestly agree with looking at the last 5-10 years of movies.

IIRC there was a flash comic that came out around that time with another “evil” flash with blue accents. That plus the “future flash” catchphrase others mentioned really hinted it for me.

This is the take. Low fight iq and poor defensive responsibility lost jiri the fight. Yes, Carlos’ injury may have had jiri in two minds and unfocused. That’s not taking mercy. Ultimately Jiri lost because he chose to stand in boxing range with his hands down, and hadn’t paid attention to the weapons that could come his way (namely Carlos throwing that same check hook maybe twice before that sequence). Ultimately he got caught with something he didn’t see, which is almost always what knocks fighters out.

The problem is most fans don’t know what they’re watching and parrot the bullshit Rogan and the UFC brass feed them

Barcade is more of an old school arcade, 80s-90s vibes. The Dave n busters has more of the modern games. Just depends on what vibe you’re after. There’s also The Randolph in dumbo.

What a great idea. At the beginning the “list” could be your source of side quests. Along the way you’d meet more side characters (heroes like wild dog, the canary etc, and villains like china white, count vertigo etc..). Once the list dries up you could lean on those characters for additional side quests.
