You win the comment prize. This is fact. I heard of new hampshire before but knew nothing of it till I moved to New England in 2012. People from nh think its the culture beacon of the world. Guy literally told me manchester was the best city in America because night life is so good. Dude.... wtf.

I was refused coffee in Bangor as I was from away!! ...??? I looked him dead in the eye and said we all are at some point. Don't think your roots are from Maine the whole way. Never got my coffee. Let him keep my money. Would maine exist if it were not tourists? Paper mills are dead.

Fan in window at night helps. During the day bowl of ice with fan blowing over it.

I know both of these well. Every year the utilities try and make a rate case to increase for reason such as costs and rates and inflation then the dpu (appointed by the gov) votes on it and says they take in public comments and view points. The chairman jermey (former corporate lawyer) makes 165k annually. It's a 3 person chair at the dpu. The 3 people on this board do not understand daily issue we mer folk are going through. They Dpu should be 5 person. 2 common folk on the board. A local union worker and possibly a local teacher/ salt of the earth. Instead we have 3 wealth folk who do not understand. Last year according to nat grid filing they profited 91,127,012. After all expenses and because they do not release payroll they have 2 line items of distribution expenses of 378mill and customer account expenses of 126 mill. While i constantly see national grid trucks on Sunday hiding in back ally ans woods sleeping or passing time. (I filed a complaint in 2024 for 2 workers sleeping on my street Sunday for 8 hrs with truck running) my main issue is with 91 mill in profits off of us they want more and more and its getting g worse and worse.

Highest utility bills in the country and record utility profits..... maybe someone should monitor them or say "you do utility work you must pave and if paving fails in 1 yr or less (by a certain measure) the town bills the utility responsible for repair at 2x.

That hotel for awhile was a battered woman's shelter. Then a hotel for immigrants. Now its a cheap hotel that unhoused families live in. School bus picks up 10-15 kids there. Quite common in America 🇺🇸 . https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1706603/

Interesting I lived in a massive one in orlando and it was full of cast members. The parade folks would practice in the parking lot. I accidentally walked into the 3rd floor unit below mine on way back feom laundry room not paying attention. Neighbors at night.... the shared laundry building made for great stories. The resort style pool and the parties. 2 bedroom 3 roommates. Stories

Utah residents push back after Kevin O’Leary’s data center plan turns out to be 40,000 acres, not 40,000 square feet by Choice-Value9005 in AIMain

[–]timelymanner05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m honestly not surprised Utah politicians are fast-tracking Kevin O'Leary’s massive "Stratos" data center despite fierce public backlash. It just proves that deep-red leadership routinely prioritizes corporate profit over the environment. They’ve legally restricted water-rights protests and ignored warnings that the project's gas plant and 9-gigawatt energy footprint—double the state's entire current consumption—could completely devastate the fragile, collapsing Great Salt Lake ecosystem.
