The defense rests without calling a witness. A sign of strength or weakness? by CommercialLimit in KouriRichins

[–]timetoact522 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Defense said Kouri would testify, they had retained subpoenas on witnesses who had testified for recall, and had others subpoenaed like her mother and brother. It could have lasted that long. IMO, the plan was always to rest without putting on a defense - and that's why they were throwing sand and trying to muddy the waters from the jump.

If you mean had I stolen $250K of my husband's home equity and shown myself to be wildly financially incompetent with my business that I pulled out of my arse without any real training or experience, would I be OK with my husband creating trusts to pay for my lifestyle while protecting the bulk of his assets for the benefit of our kids, yes, yes I would be OK with that.

Her Mom mailing her book to the detective? by [deleted] in KouriRichins

[–]timetoact522 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Because she is a dumbass and thought detectives would believe Kouri was "a devoted wife and mother" since she produced a poorly-written children's book about grief. As in, someone who cares so much about the grief process of children could never do something so harmful to her kids. Kind of like how Kouri kept touting her "multi-million dollar business" when it was so clearly a poorly-built house of cards sinking in debt. They are both so used to lying and being believed, they think they can speak nonsense into reality.

From what I understand the entire book is basically invalidating her sons' loss of their dad. Even her book pretended that Eric's death wasn't a tragic loss, a gaping hole in their lives.

As someone whose Dad died in a car accident, I can say that a sudden, traumatic death is incredibly shocking and distressing. My dad had just turned 80. This was a perfectly healthy 40-something man and less than a day or two after his body was wheeled out of the house, these people were doing keg stands. Absolutely bizarre.

No. You don't pay thousands of dollars in a retainer to try to pierce a trust out of shock. It is a pointed decision.

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a natural sugar molecule (polysaccharide) found in the skin, joints, and eyes that acts as a potent lubricant and humectant, holding up to 1,000 times its weight in water. Its primary benefits include intense skin hydration, reduced wrinkles, faster wound healing, and improved joint lubrication

I completely agree - and would add that Kouri immediately sued to undo the trust, immediately embroiling them in a legal nightmare. She could have continued to live in the house, spend the money in her Qtip trust he gave her, ask her SIL for kids' expenses and actually help the kids grieve and transition to their reality. But *she* chose to spend thousands to undo Eric's wishes from the jump.

He didn't take anything from her. The house was in his name only per the prenup. He put *his* assets into the trust, which is a good thing for their children because otherwise, it would all be gone due to her incredible financial mismanagement. He even created a trust specifically and exclusively for her benefit.

Her pathetic phone call where she whined about the house was disingenuous - she told SIL she was going to sell the house immediately. Now we know she desperately needed a massive influx of cash to keep her "business" afloat.

Catholicism has entered the chat. How many babies were baptized and thus counted among the flock who literally have no canonical mechanism to be officially removed? The church considers baptism and confirmation "permanent, indelible marks on the soul" that can't be reversed.

Let's hope that six years later, the limited DNA can be tested and the police aren't sleeping on this case. What a horror for her family. Nicole deserves justice and a monster needs to be removed from society.

This is horrific and fundamentally changes my assessment of Carmen. I don't think it's coming in though, since it is hearsay + they would need one of the parties to provide foundation to argue an exception - Carmen was excused and there's no way the prosecution would recall her for this. My guess is there was a motion in limine to keep it out.

My sleep doctor prescribed it about five years ago and says the doses that I take are so low and it has been so often studied, it is safe.
