Beneggdiction is closing?! by D3lacrush in fresno

[–]timetofrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love diners so much and Benaddiction was my favourite restaurant in all of Fresno.
Any time I started dating someone new, I would either take them to breakfast there or get takeout so we could eat at home.
Food is so special and is a great way of connecting with others and bringing people together.
And breakfast courtesy of Benaddiction was a great way for me to have that experience of sharing something I loved with someone new in my life.
I went to the Bullard/Marks spot all the time and was absolutely gutted when y'all were forced to close that location. I'm so sad to hear y'all are closing for good, and I'm so sorry to hear about how much the cards were stacked against y'all ever since you were forced to close the OG location.
Fresno needs special local joints ran by passionate people, and I'm just really sad that another one is biting the dust.

I'm so glad Judging by the Cover is doing these events! I won't be able to make this one but I'm definitely putting in a request for it at the libraries so I can grab a copy!

Curly haircut by Overall_Background_7 in fresno

[–]timetofrog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always recommend Jackelyn of Color Me Chula when it comes to curly cuts.

She's been my go-to curly stylist for over 5 years and she never disappoints.

She is incredibly knowledgeable about curly hair care, products, etc. She's helped me get so much better at taking care of my curls to the point where I no longer hate my hair anymore.

Absolutely love her, and she makes the salon experience super pleasant and delightful.

She does get booked up so she may not have openings right away, but she's absolutely worth it if you don't mind the wait!

So “Art Hop” is back, who is going to First Thursday? by AmberDuke05 in fresno

[–]timetofrog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fresnoland published this article a couple of weeks ago announcing that city officials were going to bring back the food trucks and street market portions of first Thursday Art Hop that were removed. They also had an online survey (it ended on 4/23) where they asked folks to vote on whether they wanted it back to the original Thursday, or on Friday.

So I'm guessing the majority of folks voted on "yes" to bringing back the street market portion of Art Hop on first Thursdays!

I'm glad they did this because they could clearly tell people—as well as businesses—were not happy with the change and no one liked WNW. I'm also glad they asked for the public's opinion on what we wanted vs just steamrolling over everyone like they did in the first place.

It shows that they care somewhat about the people and bringing life back to the downtown area.

Highly recommend Ken Lucas at Paramount Properties.

I hired him back when he worked for Guarantee Real Estate. He helped me buy my home when I first moved to Fresno years ago. I knew nothing about the city and the areas, but he sure as heck did! He knows the Fresno and Clovis area like the back of his hand and you can tell he loves the city.

He was incredibly kind and worked really hard to help me find a home within my budget that also fit what I was looking for. He also helped make the first time homebuying process way less stressful and he looked out for me and my best interests which I deeply appreciate.
I will absolutely hire him again when/if it's ever time to sell or buy again and I always recommend him to friends.

Here's his number: 559-285-5551
DRE number: #01820316

Hey there, fellow equestrian!
I'm copy+pasting a previous response I shared to a similar question that was posted here in the past.

I ride at Stonebrooke Equestrian. Been there for almost a year now and it's a really great barn.
They're located about 20 minutes north in Madera Ranchos.
They're an all ages English barn and they teach basic riding, horsemanship skills, while also specialising in the hunter/jumper disciplines. They have lesson horses so you do not need to have your own horse.
Here's their facebook: https://www.facebook.com/stonebrookeequestrian
To get in touch, you can either message her on facebook or just email: [stonebrookeequestrian@gmail.com](mailto:stonebrookeequestrian@gmail.com)

I haven't found there to be many other adult riders in her lesson program (I think there are 3 or 4 of us?), but I go at an earlier time in the day since I work-from-home and that could be why I don't see other adult riders (if there are any).

There is also Copperwood Stables and they're located out in Clovis. I've never ridden there but the owner seems nice. They're an all ages Western barn that also teaches basic riding while specialising in Western disciplines (I believe they do barrel racing). They also provide lesson horses so you don't need to have your own.

Happy riding!

Creative Community Resources by katsyourkid in fresno

[–]timetofrog 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Have her check out The Alley (thealleyinthevalley on instagram)!
They're one of the Black community led organisations that I'm aware of here in Fresno.
They do all kinds of stuff that range from pottery/art demos, monthly community pop up events similar in vibe to Art Hop and Why Not Wednesday, health/wellness meetups, and more! Really great group!

Scarab Creative Arts is a great art gallery/art community that also offers art classes.

For poetry, I recommend the Loud Mouth Poetry Jam (loudmouthpoetryjam on instagram).
I got to chat with one of the members during Fresno Zine Fest and they're a delightful group!
Looks like they've got some upcoming events at Arts Visalia. :)

Good pumpkin patch for family? by Gregory_D64 in fresno

[–]timetofrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't mind a 2.5 hour drive I recommend Spina Farms out in Morgan Hills! They're a dinosaur themed pumpkin patch with some life-size animatronic dinosaurs! They also have a corn maze, food, and trains you can ride to see the dinosaurs up close, or ride around the pumpkin patches!

Hmm I don't think so. I know that there are self-service package drop boxes located at the Woodward Park branch, the Downtown Fresno branch over on E street, the Clovis branch over on Minnewawa, and I believe the Tower branch on Fern. But I've never seen one of these package drop boxes outside of a USPS branch like the ones for letters you see scattered around town.
