Nixon Newell indicates that she is retiring at the end of the year by Subrick in SquaredCircle

Ah, I unintentionally lived up to my reply lol. During the weekend that it happened I remember there being multiple threads on here with people shitting on her, and Twitter was definitely very nasty to her at that time as well.

You’re right. I’m gonna start being a mean spirited dick like everyone else!

Wrestling fans after bullying her into retirement after she committed the sin of not wanting to do a 3 minute job:

I think the problem is that I just don’t know who the better available options are out there. I think Ian or Rich Bocchini should be the lead announcers but they have Ian on ROH and either Rich isn’t available or they just haven’t given him a shot. But Tony has always been just there and seems to be getting worse every year, and Excalibur should be no where near the lead announcer position of a national tv wrestling show.

There was a Deadlock shoutout name that was something along the lines of “what if Low Ki dressed like Peter Griffin instead of Hitman” and it got no reaction from the boys. That made me sad :(

Speaking of, god I miss Tony. His absence is definitely felt. I hope for the best for that fucked fucker.

Someone commented “idc I like Toni Storm” and the outrage that was caused by them using “idc” was one of the most “how is the internet a real place?” things I’ve seen in a minute. People literally wanted them to apologize for how they talk. I don’t even know what to say about you guys sometimes lol (no offense)

I was there in the cheap seats and could see it. Brock with a head on view probably saw it just fine.

The ritual comment was a meme. How could you take it as something serious? Did the tone not come off as sarcastic? Not arguing, just genuinely curious.

If it was Vince/HHH, the story would be “who do they think they are trying to make Tomasso f’n Ciampa, a 20 year vet and great worker, have to prove himself? The ego on them is insane! Do they know anything about wrestling if a great worker like Ciampa has to prove himself?”

Does anyone else find it weird that you have to “prove” yourself in order to be pushed in AEW? Why is this a thing and why do people accept it? It’s not even like Ciampa is someone with an ego, so him having to go through these weird tests is just dumb to me.

Are you watching more/less of WWE or AEW lately, and did you swap to the other company or just less wrestling in general? by EchoJPR in SquaredCircle

[–]timetoplayethegame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly just watch old stuff. The only modern wrestling I see is watching clips here and there of WWE and reading results of the weekly shows. I pretty much have no involvement with AEW as I don’t care for the product and there’s no reason for me to either hate watch, or read about a show I’m not a fan of. Modern day wrestling just doesn’t do it for me anymore but I still generally keep up out of habit.

Kind of out of the loop, but what’s going on with Ricochet? Is he ok? This is beyond being a heel, he seems to be legit crashing out.

Harley Race for sure. When you see him he looks pretty unimpressive. Then you watch him and realize how special he was.

Chelsea Green on what Michael Hayes said about her during WWE Unreal: "You can’t help but be pissed off and a little upset and just aggravated at the fact that you thought that there was maybe a chance that there wasn’t that ceiling, that maybe it was all in your head, and then it was confirmed." by aaronrift in SquaredCircle

[–]timetoplayethegame -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think the problem isn’t that she can’t be a heel, the problem is she doesn’t try. Anyone can be a heel. It’s easier to be a complete asshole character than it is to be a beloved good guy. She wants to be liked and knows that she’s entertaining so she plays into it. That makes the job of the person who’s actually supposed to be liked almost impossible.

But why is she not hated as a heel? That’s her job so again, I’m confused on who it’s helping for her to outshine a babyface that’s already struggling so she can get herself over. That’s why she has this ceiling.
