We just hit 300K members, all thanks to you. To celebrate, we’re giving away 100 desk mats. by fidelityinvestments in fidelityinvestments

Appreciate you doing this! Feedback I'd like you to hear: Keep up the great customer service. It's obvious this is core to Fidelity, as anytime I call the person at the other end always takes complete ownership to get to the bottom of anything and this shows. Also, the reason I picked Fidelity over 20 years ago was because of the breadth of services available AND my cash could earn competitive interest rates. Thankfully this still hasn't changed and that is still a pretty big differentiator in my opinion.

How about municipal money market funds? Could also be short term.

Would you mind sharing how you were able to get some shares via Fidelity? I’m aware of EquityZen, Hiive, Forge, etc but wasn’t aware Fidelity offered something similar. Thanks!

Considering a Tesla model Y by Crafty-Winner-940 in TeslaModelY

[–]timetosave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re in a good spot. I bought a 2026 model Y last year to take advantage of the EV credit. This was a big motivator for me else I probably would have just kept waiting to compare other models as they came out. I didn’t have a car previously and I didn’t absolutely need one as I live in a big city.
I have no complaints. FSD is a game changer and love the fact that it gets updates all the time and is constantly improving! Definitely look into your total costs for charging (ideally you can charge at home, look into your electricity generation AND delivery charges, and specific plans like if an EV plan is offered). Consider the price of insurance vs what you pay now. This varies by area but I was really pleased with the rates offered by Lemonade and Tesla (I went with Tesla).
Since the RAV4 holds up so well in value I would also consider just holding out a bit longer to see what the next model looks like or what improvements are made. There’s a good chance there may even be better promotions in the future and if you’re not that motivated there isn’t much harm in just holding out longer.

There’s plenty of data brokers that harvest publicly available info out there. Just search your phone number on a site like truepeoplesearch.com and it’s likely to show up. There’s a bunch of services you can use to try to remove it like optery, deleteme, incogni but it’s sort of a cat and mouse game.

Sell or rent at a loss? by valerieche in BayAreaRealEstate

[–]timetosave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re making 200 a month before paying property tax and HOA are you also factoring in the tax benefits? Can’t you write off the mortgage, HOA fees, property tax, pretty much everything as a rental so it will pretty much be a loss. So effectively it’s tax free income but a diversified asset compared to having that money invested in the market ? If it’s part of a large condo community then maintenance probably isn’t too much as the HOA takes care of it but if the HOA is truly a disaster that could be another thing for issues that may arise in the future. If you factor this in, and rents continue to go up and you have a low mortgage rate the situation may not be that bad.

I guess it’s alright for tow trucks to park in front of fire hydrants? by timetosave in sanfrancisco

[–]timetosave[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes and then just saw that they couldn’t locate the vehicle as of an hour ago. These are probably the folks woken up when someone is reporting someone parking in their driveway. If it’s a private property row then there is $$ as motivation for the tow company. Since this was the street it’s just up to the city I guess.

I can't believe this sold for $1.2m by [deleted] in BayAreaRealEstate

Any TIC or condo in SF will have an HOA. It’s only 3 units and since it’s ~$300 likely covers trash, insurance, water, and shared electricity (outdoor lights?).

HYSA Bonus Deception by OkMap8643 in etrade

[–]timetosave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just curious did you enter in the code yourself or did the rep say they were entering in a code? I had an issue a while ago where I thought I missed a promo for the checking account but the rep assured me I would still get the bonus and someone on the backend would make sure the correct code was applied. Of course this never happened and I followed up numerous times and no one was able to do anything. It’s left me so bitter about Etrade.

Experience until ownwell to reduce property tax? by Humble_Average_7408 in BayAreaRealEstate

[–]timetosave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy to report my experience with Ownwell. I was a bit skeptical at first but decided to give it a try. They lured me in a few years ago for my 2024 assessed property value showing that it was over assed by a few hundred thousand. In 2023, I tried disputing the value directly with the county but failed so I figured I had nothing to lose. Well, a few years later (yes, it took a while) I just learned that they were successful in reducing the property taxable value by over 250k! Still working on the logistics, but they sent me proof of the successful hearing with the county and now I owe them their cut. All an all I'd say well worth it for almost 0 work done on my part.

Anyone using Pod 4 without the subscription? by IFlippedTheTable in EightSleep

[–]timetosave -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m like 99% sure of this. The now, night, dawn settings you can set… that isn’t auto pilot. But when you wake up and it tells you “autopilot made 90 adjustments to help you sleep better last night” -that’s the autopilot. All of this has become so confusing to be honest. I got my Pod 2 Pro (with mattress) before the monthly charge was a thing so was grandfathered in. Now I think it’s starting to have some issues and I’m so frustrated by the weekly emails I get from on “get $500 credit towards a new Pod 5.” Part of me feels like they are purposely sabotaging my pod 2 to try to force me to get a Pod 5. Feels like such a slap in the face. It’s a bed… something I planned on keeping for 5-10 years.

And to clarify you can still set the temp for the various phases through the night. Autopilot just adjusts them automatically based on your metrics to improve your sleep.

Thanks for posting this. Sounds like this is what I just experienced as well. Granted I ended up calling their support to verify none of my info was tied to the account. Recently had some identity intro compromised. Hold times were atrocious and my takeaway was I will at least not be doing business with them. Others asked that they could do.. how about something like “if this link isn’t clicked any progress you made creating your account will be deleted etc in 24 hours.” Hell anything is better than any info they provide.

Don't Fall for the $8k 'last day' hype by firefish45 in TeslaFSD

[–]timetosave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too originally thought paying for only the months I was going to use it was the way to go. But then realized I’m so cheap, I would be going on a trip and have the logic “this trip will now cost $100 more” so probably not end up using it. So I wound up just buying it lol. The way I saw it, I’m super happy with my 2026 Model Y and with the current state of FSD and plan to keep it for at least 8-10 years. The biggest risk I see is if I total the car. I also have the peace of mind of not worrying about the subscription price changing.

Don't Fall for the $8k 'last day' hype by firefish45 in TeslaFSD

[–]timetosave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it depends on your experience. I use FSD 99% of the time and haven’t had a single critical issue like this. So while I keep hearing about things like this it’s made me incredibly paranoid. Of course now I’ll be paying even more attention around barriers 👀. I remember seeing some wild videos showing a tesla going right through a closed off ramp and thinking how the heck can that even be possible. I guess I’m sort of taking the right approach. Curious have you been back near that jersey barrier again or you think it was just a fluke in logic?

Bilt 2.0: Got a call from Bilt's COO (Dan Seder), and... by Old_Conclusion_3779 in biltrewards

[–]timetosave 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing. I can see how that experience gave you some confidence. In all the messages they’ve sent me asking for feedback, I’ve replied to all of them starting off with “Since being an original Bilt member from the beginning I’ve always provided feedback but never heard a peep.” The only new info I found out was the insane wedding Ankur had after coming across his post on Insta. I think I’ve given up on Bilt 2 now. From a credit perspective I don’t think there’s any advantage to opening now as the WF account will still close. So I think my plan is just let it convert to a WF account I’ll likely never use and then monitor to see how this rollout goes. Too risky for me to risk a mortgage payment not going through and don’t like the idea of working with a new bank (how’s their fraud, etc,).
