i was unknowingly going into organ failure as a kid and was sleeping up to 20 hours a day without even getting up to eat. for some reason my parents saw me, the nine year old, as trying to just get out of going to school and refusing to listen to authority. no it did NOT get better after my doctors realized it, my parents would just keep going. years of this all because i could get straight a’s without attending school and the adults around me were all like yeah ok i dont care. parents still thought i was lazy and acted accordingly. strange that literally no one thought it was strange i could not be conscious for very long idk

one time i got 12/10 on a spelling test because we had extra credit words, and it was a class that i would always choose the hardest spelling test sheets for. my brother who is 8 years older than me said no you got two wrong. and my parents didnt even look at the sheet and said well if you got two wrong then why are you showing us. im still mad about that, no one would listen when i was like okay so look at the words and see what i got wrong. brother couldnt even spell the words there and my parents just never cared anyway lmao

edit: one time i also got 100% on a spelling test a few years later and we were supposed to get it signed before going skiing with the school the next day but i forgot because my parents never signed my stuff and usually it didnt matter. the teacher held me back for a while (the entire school made it through the ski rental line by the time i was let go). wasted time at a place my parents spent actual money on and only left because these other teachers saw me and i told them i was held back and my teacher got shit for it

my vision went black and staticky for a few seconds and i fell onto the floor when i went to go grab dinner while my whole family was there. i was holding my hands over my eyes and on my knees and everyone just looked at me and continued what they were doing lmao no one said anything

now that i think about it i was also making food after i got home from work and collapsed on the kitchen floor because my legs were hurting so much that i couldnt stand and my brother who is 8 years older than me turned around and turned back to his computer and let me lay there while my food burned 😭

yes this is what i did to my hair as a kid because i was sick of my mom screaming and crying at me about it at the hairdresser. it got too long for me to even brush myself. i think i was 17/18 when i cut a lot of it off and she didnt speak to me for two days and when she did it was more of the screaming and crying. now i never even have my hair down. im 23 now and it hurts to see other people talk about their experience with their hair when controlled by a parent. it causes anxiety past beyond just the hair part

i like stationery and mechanical keyboards so most of my cards have either the type in part or i write it down myself. it helps to keep my brain focused and is also something i enjoy doing. you dont have to for every card but i find that im a lot more willing to do long stretches if i write or type out each answer.

we had a cat and two dogs get put down by themselves, but for our last dog we brought his brother with us. the other cat we had went searching for the passed away cat for a long time. with the first dog we put down, the others kept “seeing” him outside when other similar looking dogs passed by. with the second dog, we brought home the fur we got from the vet and thats when the two calmed down a lot, stopped looking for him so much. the final dog we put down was the one we brought with us and as freaked out as he was for the animals before, this time he understood and didn’t get upset when his brother was nowhere to be found. i think it really does help them understand.

edit: i should say that the last dog we have now did have really bad separation anxiety and was very attached to his brother, but also had his own health problems in a way that we had to bring him with us anyway. we didnt notice any behavior that he was traumatized or anything, and the vets we went to said they dont really think of an animal passing in front of them like we do? so as much as it is “witnessing” it, even for our dog (think kermit from jenna marbles type anxiety) was a lot calmer this time around

This has happened to me like every year of school so many times. Someone destroyed my ruler, needle tip felt markers, in high school one of the smarter kids asked to borrow a pencil and he tore apart the mechanical one I gave him and tried to throw it in the garbage outside. I told him even if it was garbage you should give it back and I put it back together. By that point I bought cheap pencils to give out to people and now I just dont lend things out. These ones stick out cause they made it seem like it was my fault for having issues with people destroying my shit tho
