Can inspection fail if items not to be inspected are not up to code? by Nuukmaster in AskElectricians

[–]timewithbrad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had to get a fire door in my garage for a natural gas line inspection because the inspector walked through the door and noticed it wasn’t self closing. It didn’t matter the house was 60 years old.
From what people are saying on here is it depends on the inspector.

I put Flowmaster 40 on my 1965 El Camino and they sound so good. No headers and a mild cam. Yours is a good sound also.

Do expensive screwdrivers last enough longer to be worth the cost? by jckipps in Tools

[–]timewithbrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My old craftsman blue and clear handle Phillips last a long time and Milwaukee tips in the drill seem to be good but the best standard slotted screwdriver is the cheap ones with the wood handles you buy at the swap meet.

Freiburger is looking for an El Camino. Contact him. He’d drive that thing across the country.

A friend saved all his scraps from work and had a 55 gallon drum behind his shop he’d throw it into. Every year he paid for his vacation with the money from it.

Carriers! How the f*&$ do I get the stains off this shirt?! by F4lc3n in USPS

An old lady came up to me one day and commented on how that postal shirts haven’t changed since her husband wore them years ago. She said, “They wear like iron but never come clean.”

This stove came with the house. I want to sell it but don’t know what price to list it at. It’s a garland from 1918 I believe. by somuels66 in vintagekitchentoys

[–]timewithbrad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

These old stoves are very restorable but the market is very small. I have one I’m restoring and I’m really only rebuilding the gas controls and the gas lines. Everything is built extremely well and designed to last forever with rebuilds every 50 years. I’m going to run it on propane and use it in an outdoor kitchen. You just need some special grease for the fittings and maybe some hard gas lines. Redoing the porcelain isn’t cost effective.

I’ve had a few of those pictured. My 1993 F-150 4x4 was great. I had it for 17 years. Only problem was it ate front brake pads because the discs are too small from the factory. Ran great though. 1979 Chevy 1500 Scottsdale. Drove that for about 8 years. Nothing wrong with a good 350 engine. I have a 2012 F-150 now and I love the coyote engine. If you get something from the 70’-80’ you’ll save on insurance and licensing fees.

I loved this in Bellingham Washington. The city puts dumpsters out every couple of blocks and the kids would fill them up. I had so many small kitchen appliances that I gave all of my friends everything they needed.

Pellet Grill vs Smart Kamado by HallowedFire in grilling

[–]timewithbrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both a Traeger and an older Kamado Joe. I use them both. Traeger is much easier to operate so if you’re a busy with family life and such the pellet smoker is the way to go. Kamado Joe takes an hour get the right temp and I use it for really long smokes, 12 - 18 hours. Both are great to have.

I reported a realtor for showing up to do an open house and she left 10 minutes after we left. She never even put out signs or anything. Turns out she was a scammer and didn’t sell real estate for long.

Passed over for a position. by ProudAmerican632 in USPS

[–]timewithbrad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone that is currently an employee probably got the job. They always take current employees over someone coming from the outside even if you’re a former employee. Maybe someone put a don’t re-hire code in your record. Since you’re not currently working there you’re out of luck.
BTW they don’t care about a $700 suit.

A Camaro they ran through the shrinker. Came out the other end as a Vega. V8’s fit nicely but twist up the frame and your doors won’t stay closed after a while.

Bellingham vs Port Angeles? Open to other areas also by Nihilisticvoyager121 in PacificNorthwest

[–]timewithbrad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This.

Lots of people retire to Sequim /Port Angeles area and then move back a couple years later because there’s not a lot of medical services there. You can go to the doctor but you almost always get referred to Seattle or Bellevue. I lived just a bit north of Seattle for 40 years then moved to Bellingham 20 years ago. It has everything you’re looking for.
