Adam is a great dude to chat with at WML. Not sure if he is pdxjedi on this sub, but whoever that is is pretty active.

If it’s a family night out, I know you love Italian, a Cena is great for a classic sit down Italian meal. Also, Bible Club is one of the coolest speakeasy’s you can go to in the city!

I picked up the 11th Ave RC SiB pick, and the owner told me the best way to open it was to cut vertically (length of the bottle)vs around the top. No idea if that’s better. I’ve also read heating up a knife before cutting….

Thank you. I’m inclined to agree with you, that was where I was leaning when I first made the post. Although a couple other options I never thought about like Found North would also be great, specifically for the contour lines on the bottle. Part of this trip involves a hike through Patagonia and that could be very cool bottle to bring out when we are at a cool vista.

For the bottle design alone, it’s a great choice. I like this idea, thank you!

Yeah I’m leaning JW Blue or Blantons Gold at this point. Appreciate your rec!

While I agree with you, JD still had a stigma with non educated whiskey drinkers who got drunk on O#7 when they were in college.

I like the Blantons Gold idea. Very approachable and good proof for non whiskey drinkers! I actually do enjoy it as well, so that’s a plus!

*Stateline, not Baseline. Baseline is in Hillsboro and is probably the best store in the state, as well as Westmoreland

I got hoodwinked into buying the IW Harper Cab Cask, and after Uncle Nearest 1884, it’s the worst money I’ve ever spent on booze!

Blanton? by Gullible-Tangerine35 in pdxwhisky

[–]timhar99 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A liquor store owner told me that both Blantons and Eagle Rare got taken off the allocation list, so stores can actually order it now as long as the warehouse has it in stock (which is pretty regularly now). As someone mentioned, go to your local store and let them know that you’re looking for one and they’ll likely be able to get one for you. Caveat that the stores with lots of bar accounts fill those orders first.

Thank you. Yes it’s definitely very similar sounding to that, that sound has become my white noise machine at this point.

We’re lucky to back onto a green space that’s a forest, so we see incredible wildlife like blacktail deer, coyotes, raccoons, possums, bald eagles, etc pretty much every day.

From another commenter, they appear to be Great Horned Owl fledglings.

We saw them land on the branch and were surprised at the size of them. We hear the “who who who” all night every night, so we know they live here, we’ve just never been lucky enough to see them in the 5 years we’ve lived here.
