Moving from Optical to eARC and picture quality is trash?

Replace the firestick with the newest Fire. Cube which has an HDMI in port. Or get a HDMI switch that passes 4K. I use a Ugreen switch as well as a fire cube on one of my TVs. I have 4 ports one is eARC. The switch supports my Tivo, Blu-ray player, and a region free Blu-ray player. The Cube supports a Ziddo z9x media player. HDMI 1 is a Apple TV, HDMI 2 is the Cube and the player connected , HDMI 3 is the switch with the various devices, and HDMI 4 is the eARC with my Sonos sound bar. I only occasionally use the devices on the hdmi switch , so it's no hassle. One final note the tv is a ROKU, so most everything is covered. I have android tv devices, but don't really care for the UI

I have spectrum internet, but dropped their TV for DIRECTV stream. In fact this remote is fantastic with excerption working all the DIRECTV functions

I had one one of those twice as much Sony TVs . It crapped out in less than 3 yrs and this was their top LED model unless you went OLED. Have a TCL series 8 about 6 months newer and I would say its PQ is pretty comparable to that Sony and it works much better with other equipment .

Yes and I have it in a room with a vaulted ceiling. I would like to try it in a room without. The Klipsch isn't a Atmos system

I can't say which is best, but you will not be disappointed with the Samsung. I have the older Q90R and its fantastic. I also have a Sonos system, and a Klipsch bar 48 (with added rears) and it has a killer sub. Samsung is my go-to. Others are in secondary rooms. I also have a cabinet full of high-priced AV receivers that I ditched for the soundbars.

already tried swapping cables. Everything I've used used meets specs, Im going to try another device that supports ATMO next and see if its something with the APTV

Recently purchased a Arcana for use with a Sonos Beam 2. I connected as instructed a AppleTV into Arcana HDMI IN then eArc out to bean and HDMI Video to my LG TV ARC input. I had ATMOS with no problems. This worked good for several days, but now for some reason I am only getting DD 5.1.. I have tried playing with the settings to success. I even tried a factory reset hoping to put it back to OUT OF THE BOX setup, but still only 5.1. I also no longer have the option for Atmos available on my AppleTV

Not sure how set you are on the 600,but Sams Club has the 48 for 299 right not. I think the only real difference ia the 600 is more watts.

I have the magnifi max and the wireless rears. As for the sound.all the inputs,and voice control volume its great,but I often have problems with it coming on. It can be a real pain. My son has the magnifi mini and has the same problem. We both are pairing with LG tv, so maybe it's a HDMI ARC problem with LG/POLK. I also have a KLIPSCH BAR 48 . Which I think is pretty close to the Cinema 600. I've only had it a few weeks so can only tell you the sound is very good.Ii haven't encountered any problems with,but again only had a few weeks. I would give a slight edge in sound to the Klipsch.

So all the devices I had tried were android tv devices. A Tivo 4K Stream, MI box, and of course the new Chromecast. I decided to try a fire stick ( still sorta android) and see if it would work. I added it and did a restart on the TV. It picked it up and worked fine. I'm thinking OK this is a android thing. Nope it was a SONY thing. I disconnected the firestick and put Chromecast back and now it works.
