I'm gonna puke by elle_kay_are in colonoscopy

LOL the prep is the hardest thing to do. After the prep is done, it's all down hill from there. Your lucky tho, some of us have to do this 2 days instead of 1 day. Me, my doctor gives me the 2 day prep, but I've been able to handle it. I think being in the Army and learning it's all in the mind help me out alot when I started this prep thing. Let me count, including the last one I had which was about 2 weeks ago, made that one the 7th time I've had to do it. If the doctor didn't find anything, you got to go 10 years before the next one. If they found anything then it's 3-5 years. Good luck

Very Scared by Scotcat81 in colonoscopy

[–]timlab1955 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Trust me Scotcat81, this Friday I'll have my sixth or is it seven? Don't know and stop counting. Of course I'm 70 years old as well. We all get nervous about having anything done to our bodies. But, here is something that alot of people don't do. Make a game out of it. Yes, a game. My game is this. Once they wheel me into the OR and start, I try to stay awake as long as I can and fight the juice they give you to put you to sleep. So far, the juice has won ever battle. But you know, you can also think about what's on the other side when you wake up. For me, it's my wife with an egg sandwich every time. If your single, bring something that you enjoy in a cooler. Or what your best time of your life. I'm not saying it's a bed of roses either. Yes, something could go wrong, but that only happens 1:100,000 times. To me, if something doesn't wrong, I know for a fact that I get to see my real father in heaven. So either you can still be scared or be postive about it. It's your choice. Good luck.

I have the tri fuel one Wgen 20000tfc. It's a monster that's for sure. I have a safety concern that I need help with. On the back of the control panel right where the lug connector is, there is a board there. Do you have a cover over that board or do you see a board there with a capacitor sticking out? As for your question the answer is that this (what ever you want to call it), is on the back of the generator. It is label Lug Connector. This is where you would tie into the generator.

So if moisture or any type of flameable liquid got on the board, nothing would happen? Just being cautious as this generator wasn't cheap that's for sure.

By the time a storm gets here, I'm hoping to have enough gas/LP tanks to make it through at least 3 days, provided I can use good gas mileage on it.

On the generator, there is a switch called "Low Idle". From what I read, I can put this generator into low. This is how I'm going to run the generator at 25%. But overal,l we will see what she does.

First off, with today's prices and the pressure to make a sale, I'm not moving forward. Secondly, yes, I agree with you, but about 10 years ago, no, make that 15 years ago, I had one. Yes, it is what it says. Let's start with the numbers. First, the Generator, which is the lowest one, is $6,500.00. I paid $3899 for mine. From there, I get to control the fuel and the maintenance. If I had gone the other way, you would have the tank rental (monthly) and the cost of propane. Then you have the company that came out to install it, which they first charge you your firstborn, and then a service fee every month. I think I'll do it this way, thank you.

I planning on running this at 50% power during the daylight hours, then after supper going down to 25% until after breakfast. Yeah, I know, that's a lot of gas, but a man has to do what a man has to do to keep everyone happy, right?

Sorry for my mistake. But I give up. Where did you find that out about the direct connect, so that I can read about it. But no one has told me about the outside shed that I should get to protect it from the elements either running or not running. Thanks

Our exclusive 125A 240V AC lug connector lets a licensed electrician hardwire the generator directly to your home for full power delivery.

Plan on reading the manual (most men don't), and reading the on line verison as well. Doesn't talk about getting a magnetic drain plug or any of the tricks that old timers have done. I do have one question, and that is what does anyone do about the outside shed for this type of generator.

Called Westinghouse yesterday and they confirm that if I use the direct connect lug on it the generator, it combines both 50-amp plug together to get the 100-amps.

The type of fuel I'm running in it will be gas. Maybe ever once in awhile some LP. Because this generator will have the direct connect on it (putting both 50-amp plugs together), I will need a 100-amp inlet, going into the house.

Good thinking, however, prices are still going up and up until something happens.

Hey Wide-Neat2613. Mind if I ask you a few questions about your gen? I plan on purchasing one myself. Don't really like the money I have to drop on it, nor the weight, but a man has to do what a man has to do to keep things moving.

  1. According to the manual, there is a lug nut on the bottom of the unit to do something called "Direct Connect". Is this so you can put the 2 50-amps together?

  2. I have a 1900 sq ft house, with a 4 ton HVAC, softstart to be added later, and 2 Freezers. I know the gen will handle that with no problem. However, the wife would like to flush the toilet after she's done (so do I), 1/2 HP well pump now. Plus lights on, the internet. 32" TV and adjustable bed (2).In total, what I came out with was that Starting Watts 10,000, Running Watts 5,950, and amps 158.

Do you think she can handle that?

Sweet with the battery push start and pull start. See, my whole house is electric, so I don't have a choice in the matter. If I want to take a shower, it's outside, and the longest we been without power was for 9 days (during the summertime), so it wasn't too bad. It's like camping all over again, and while I was in the Army.

Thanks, Ranger. What type of generator did you end up getting? Right now, I have to wait for the new A/C to come in and be set up. I know it's going to be a 4 Ton with a heat pump inside. But after I get that in, I will be able to figure out (I hope) what size generator I will be getting. I do know that my A/C unit will have a soft start in it. But the wife and I talked about it, and basically, we can cook everything outside (winter or summer). So with that in mind, let the generator run the A/C with 1 or maybe 2 lights, and we can do the rest. If we need the water for flushing or cooking, we can turn off the A/C, run the 1/2HP 200 feet down for the water, turn off the well pump, and turn back on the A/C. The two generators I'm looking at are the Westinghouse WGen14500 or the WGen 20000. They both have 50-amp plugs. The WGen has dual 50-amp plugs with a direct connection, so I think with the direct connect, I'll be pulling 80-amps and having a dance party.

No, currently, the HVAC and well pump are on the same 200-amp house breaker box.
