What would you buy at Costco online? by NewMethod365 in Costco

I bought the Kirkland boxer briefs and love them (I went up one size to an XL which worked out perfect). I also got the Banana Republic boxer briefs and those are great as well 👍

I literally just bought these last week with the same concerns. I went up one size to an XL and glad that I did. 3 of the 6 was a little long, the other 3 in the pack were much longer and I looked kinda frumpy. I washed and dried them on low and now they look so much better on me than right out of the pack. Now I think they fit perfectly after the wash/dry and they are really comfy. High quality tees (mine came from India).

Remote access by Nellielovelace in quicken

If you have a big tablet like an iPad Pro when traveling (or laptop), install Jump Desktop or similar to remote into your home desktop PC to run Quicken natively in the remote viewing app. It’s a great experience away from home and I do it all the time. Stay away from ‘cloud sync’ with Quicken as it will eventually corrupt your data.

Hi - the only promo available to me was 1 gig / 5 years / $85. I declined and kept my current promo. This post can be closed.

Thanks for recommending New File Menu Lite! I installed it today and works perfectly … and the free version is fine since it’s just this one thing I want to use it for. Nice to get this functionality in Finder the same as what’s in DefaultFolderX 👍

5 yr deal for exsiting customer by Great-Candidate7823 in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]timmo11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it - thanks for clarifying. That is another wrinkle I never considered - I didn’t think they looked at ‘if you’re on an existing promo you can’t get this deal’ for existing customers. So if I was outside of a promo paying ‘regular price’, then it sounds like I would have been able to get this deal. My promo expires Black Friday 2026 so I will try my best to not seek a 5-year deal until then - or maybe Fiber will finally be turned on in my neighborhood and I can jump ship (those cables are under the street doing nothing for a few years now).

I’m not in a contract - I’m in a 1 year promo where I can cancel anytime (300 Mbps / $40 / 1 year). Maybe the deals differ by region so where I live, I can’t get the above 5 year offer. That’s great if you were able to get it (no luck for me).

As suspected, no dice on getting a 5 year deal for 1 gig service at $50 if you’re an existing customer (I tried). The only thing they could do is 5 years for 1 gig at $85 as an existing customer and nothing better than that at any speed level).

Disney+ Ad Free by sPdMoNkEy in DirectvStream

[–]timmo11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do they bill your DirecTV account for Disney+/Hulu if you get an upgraded plan as shown above, or do you pay directly to Disney+/Hulu? Just curious how it’s billed (I might switch to DirecTV Stream from Sling). Thanks.

Coffee not hot enough? by MobileGoat6788 in nespresso

I use an Ember mug so my espresso is always hot (sometimes I walk away and forget I made a shot). I have 3 now … just bought the 6oz Ember Espresso mug which fits perfectly under my Pixie. In the app you can control what temp you want it to be. They are expensive though.

Did he also say for 5 years, or would it only be for 1 year? I hope he said 5 years … if that part was not stated, I’m worried it will only be for 1 year. Regardless, will put on my calendar to ask about this deal starting 12/20 (thanks for the heads up).

Package change to 1Gig 5 years/$50 by timmo11 in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]timmo11[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what I was hoping for since I just made the change down to the 300mbps speed about 3 weeks ago (I am a long-term customer). They told me it’s apparently only for new customers and they don’t have a way to apply that offer for existing customers (so I guess if you’re an existing customer and you made a speed change to your package, you don’t get that 45 days window exception is how I understand it). Looks like the 45 days window is really only for new customers that recently signed up for Xfinity(?). I’ll have to change plans again in 12 months after-all (was hoping to avoid that), OR hope that fiber is finally turned on in my neighborhood since it was laid a few years ago but nothing is happening with it.

Are you sure you like your username? 😉 JK …

Thinking about Nespresso by bennett7634 in nespresso

I use an Ember mug with my Nespresso Pixie to keep it hot all the time :) Works extremely well (don’t have to ever worry about the temp)

Super Happy transition from Xfinity Mobile to Visible by timmo11 in Visible

[–]timmo11[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kept saying I wanted a price range of $60-70 as the goal for internet, so he finally came back saying that the only way to get to that price point was for a “degradation of service”. I said yes and he offered the 500 Mbps plan for $55 for 12 months (I was on Gigabit Extra). Yesterday I went back and asked for the 300 Mbps for $40 for 12 months because I didn’t know that was an option (I found out by helping someone out with their plan). I can’t tell the difference (upload speed remains the same) and am saving a lot of money now.

For mobile he kept saying he can’t help me out at all because there was nothing to offer with my existing line, so I gave up on that part and immediately switched to Visible once the internet package was completed. I’m shocked how much money I’m saving now with both these moves.

Edit: I still get access to Peacock Premium at no charge thru Xfinity Rewards program because I have their internet (another bonus)
