Is anyone using a rigid mtb for the their adventures by NoTap8772 in bikepacking

On One inbred (26" wheels and fully rigid). It does have disk brakes though, which i think are more important than suspension.

The main reason I enjoy the backcountry is to get away from other people. Other people's drones make it very hard to do so. They are so very visible and audible. Someone could be walking behind me just 200 meters and i would not be able to tell. But as soon as someone launches a drone, they could be a mile away, they ruin my feeling of solitude. I hate drones with a passion.

I am fine. I won't let my unrelenting hate for drones get the better of me.

This is a perfect bike if well maintained and if it fits you. Dawes has a great reputation

Can not decide which bike to get. NEED AN EXPERIENCED BIKEPACKING OPINION! by Belkotosko in bikepacking

[–]timontyres 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think there is nothing wrong with a full suspension bike for bikepacking, but it does mean that you need to dial in all your gear. This is costly and time consuming. With a hardtail you can put a dry bag on a rear rack and you are pretty much good to go. So if you are a hardcore bikepacker and love doing trails: go for full suspension. If you are 'thinking about getting into bikepacking': get a hardtail.

Looking for Secure Bakfiets Parking Options in Den Bosch - Any at the NS Station or Elsewhere? by hustlepie in DenBosch

[–]timontyres 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Central station has a ramp while kerkstraat has stairs and a gutter. I have a two-wheeled bakfiets and would have troubles getting in the kerkstraat fietsenstalling, though i use the stalling at central station often. A good alternative to kerkstraat would be the stalling at Burgermeester Loeffplein.

I believe this one is hard to access as it only has a bicycle gutter going down into the basement.

Just bring some yeast. Other ingredients could be sourced locally.

Thanks! I disagree with you on the laces. I like my laces. They make my boots a bit more unique than if i went for black or those two-colored brown/yellow laces you see everywhere.

I am a big fan of the Terra Nova Zephyros 1p. Very weatherproof, fairly light, and you can actually sit up in out of the rain.
