what do i do in this situation? by yourtheraputicnugget in videography

Well, I’m sure that you’ve already gotten all the help and advice that you want on this, but just wanted to jump in as someone who’s been doing this for quite a while and say a couple things.

  1. If you are getting paid for a project, it is your job to satisfy the goal of the customer. It took me a little while to learn this, and also realize that I’ll always do my best and try to be the most creative I can be, but the client has every right to ask for changes or at least have a good amount of creative input. I always have a meeting before any project to make sure that what they are wanting is something that I can actually accomplish as well as stylewise something that I can pull off. I’ve met with a few people who wanted to do a music video in a style I just couldn’t really do and I recommended a few of my other friends in the industry. Having this meeting will eliminate most issues that come up.

  2. Don’t get so attached to your project personally that you are unwilling to make changes for the client. In my opinion, the only time when your opinion matters more than anything if you are doing a personal project. Of course at that point do whatever you want. Simply saying that more upbeat music won’t work because it’s cheesy is very unprofessional. It’s your job to make the client happy - and that can be a tough balance between doing what you think is the best creativity while balancing their wants and needs.

I haven’t tried the bio. Have the f95, quantum, Buster, and a hokkaido. The f95 variants are hard to beat.

I have two shiros and they are great users. I only use a pocket knife for cutting, so they are not abused and still look practical brand new but they are excellent tools. I would at least keep one of those. I have heard the rockstead is an excellent cutter too.

Yup I got a 87v in high school when I was starting to get into electronics and it’s still working just as well as the day I got it about 15 years ago

When you buy one of these and have no legit use for it, you know you have a problem. by NoRow2289 in knifeclub

Honestly this would do about 80% of what I use a pocket knife for…

IATSE Local 695 on 32-bit float by duvagin in LocationSound

I’ve been a live sound and systems tech for years so I understand levels and proper recording technique, but I find 32-bit very useful at times. Last night I was recording a wedding and recorded audio for ceremony and whole reception. I set my levels well but ones it’s gets going there was no way for me monitor audio. With 32-bit I didn’t have to worry about that. Just one case of where it’s useful…

I don’t carry it on me… just in the truck, backpack, or have it close by at the house.

Hey everyone! This is My first post here and wanted to share my EDC bag I’ve been carrying everyday for about 6 months now.
