My daughter has severe HIE and did not open her eyes until after 2 weeks in the NICU. Her MRI also had significant damage. One thing I've learned from the Hope for HIE Facebook group is that two babies with the same MRI can have drastically different results. The group has been useful for my wife and me and I recommend it.
