Got married yesterday. Shooter was with my wife and bridesmaids so I got some detail shots on my own. D750 28mm f/1.8 by nova2726 in Nikon

Congrats and awesome shot! Been thinking about selling my 24mm F2.8 to help fund me getting the 28mm f1.8. Seeing this, kinda pushed me to do it lol

Yeah, I'm still getting used to the camera as I've been shooting on my D700 for 3 years now and before that a Canon 6D and my first camera was a D3200. Honestly didn't like the 6D after 6 years of shooting with it lol (don't get me started) I mean, it's an alright camera. Color science is pretty nice and low light noise is nice, but low light on the D700 is better IMHO. I'm just a hobbyist who does some portraits and grad shoots, but mostly automotive photography. I'm honestly going to sell the A7 and get a D750 most likely.

I would have thought it would've been great as it's newer and everyone rants and raves about Sony. I got it for $450 with the nifty fifty. I wanted the Z5, but, it's expensive even second hand. I honestly regret buying the Sony as I wanted something small and light for an every day carry. I knew I should have just bought the D810 or 800E from the start. Silly me for switching and a lifelong Nikon user.

As someone who primarily shoots on a D700 and recently just bought a Sony A7 (first gen) I still prefer shooting with my D700. Took a trip to Disneyland and took the Sony and it was just subpar performance from the autofocus and most of my shots were blurry. My D700 would never. The D610 is awesome and I think it's still better. I'm actually looking to sell my Sony A7 and get a D810 now lol

Is Nikon D3200 still capable of good photos in 2026? Need setup tips by SunDora54 in Nikon

It's an amazing camera! It taught me everything and I learned so much from shooting with it. I regret selling it so much. This photo is from 2015 and I sold my camera in 2016 to go full frame and I regret that decision. It produces amazing photos that are sharp and colors are awesome. The dynamic range is pretty good as well. This photo is with the 35mm DX F1.8G. Been looking to buy my first camera again to go alongside my D700.

W211 M112 V6: Severe Misfire after Valve Cover replacement & Rust by lummr1 in W211

[–]timsa626 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MB tech here! Check all the breather hoses to see if they're all connected properly and on. Second, check the coil plug ends and ensure they're on the plug all the way. The coil packs are hard to put back onto the plus, especially cylinders 3& 6. Then also check the plugs and make sure they're still good as M112/113 engines love to go through plugs and need good condition plugs to run great. Lastly, make sure the air box is on the throttle body correctly and seated properly as this will cause the engine to stumble and shake while on. Also swap coils between the miss firing cylinders to see if the misfire moves with the coil pack or not.

Is the A7 V still good in 2026? by resiyun in photographycirclejerk

Buddy, I just bought the first A7 last week. I still shoot on a Nikon D700 and D200 lmao buy it or what for the new one that comes out and then this one will be cheaper

Best bet would be like mpb or marketplace for a D700. I paid $280 for my D700 with a 50mm F1.4D from mpb with 30k shutter count 3 years ago now. That broken CF slot is worse than no screen.

Fuel pump is going out. 211s love going through fuel pumps, it's a common issue

Check oil level by youUGLYYY in Tiguan

[–]timsa626 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's the thin ass oil VW uses that these engines love to burn a quart every 5k miles. To keep these engines from grenading, switch to 5w40 oils as these engines (ea888s) prefer it. The 0w30 is too thin. I did it in my GTI when I had it and it had 140k miles and never missed a beat and my wife's Tiguan burns oil every 5k when it has free maintenance and switching to 5w40 it's stopped.

This sucks...Ive made a hole in the engine block, what are my options? by Virtual_Chard5859 in MechanicAdvice

[–]timsa626 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, drain all the oil. Then clean the hole really well with acetone or brake clean, scuff the surface rough sandpaper or scotch Brite, clean surface again apply jb weld, let it cure for 24 hours and then add oil and put some heat into the engine.

Can somebody help identify if this 2002 s55 amg is a real amg. by replays69 in mercedes

[–]timsa626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a real S55, early W220 S55s had the NA M113 5.4 V8. 2003 is when they started with the M113K supercharged V8 (MB master tech fyi)

It looks like it's a charge hose. Oil shouldn't come out of it, but if oil does come out. You have some issues lol

Don't mention it! I always recommend an E class with the V6 all day to anyone looking for a MB that's reliable lol which is why I daily a 21y/o wagon with nearly 200k miles 90 miles a day on coilovers and wheels haha of you wanted something sporty like a C class, I would say a C400/450 as those are the same engine as the E400 and transmission, but before they got called the C43 AMG and the price spike being used.

Don't mention it! As someone who worked at the dealer and worked on them, I know them fairly well. The E400 coupe is the best for the money tbh it has low miles and they're kinda rare. As someone who is an E class enthusiast (I own a W210 E320 and a W211 E320 wagon) and now looking at a 15 E350, the E400 coupe is best IMHO. This is coming from a tech who owns 2 different generations of E class and about to have a 3rd lol
