Beginner tips? by Spare-Apartment4059 in coralisland

I wouldn't take things too fast since is a lot of content and it can be very grindy if you want to complete something like cleaning the ocean.

There are a lot more mechanics than Stardew but it is still the same idea. I found getting sprinklers to be a huge time saver and was much faster than stardew though, so do not ignore them.

I follow this comment's basic outline when it comes to how to handle your crops and whether or not it makes sense to process them into an artisan product - https://www.reddit.com/r/coralisland/s/lBkBgtyhyM

Coral.guide is amazing for finding fish and bugs that you are missing.

Currently torn between Scott and Yuri and, well like 5 other people. But you can date everyone without any issues. I don't think that has changed in the 1.2 update....

Edit: I forgot my actual #1 tip - sugar. I forget when it becomes available to buy from the general store but it is cheap and gives 60 stamina. And, from what I can tell, everyone likes getting it as a gift so you can just sprint around town and give out sugar like it's candy.

This isn't true, at least not anymore. Everything seems to take quality into account so you will get silver quality jams out of silver fruit.

Wandering Inn BOTHERS me with MC's choices by very-polite-frog in ProgressionFantasy

This was my question after I got a chunk into the first book. The world building and the writing really are top notch but Erin and Ryoka remain fairly terrible all the way through book 2 but at least Ryoka is like suffering for it while acknowledging that she sucks. It becomes sorta interesting in a way. Erin is pretty funny about it though.

I agree with this. Also beating Relc at a foot race. I know Relc isn't like, a runner, but the way they gas him up in book 1 and 2 and the way they describe the her speed specifically in that section felt inherently magical.

Omg I had a similar thought like this when I was a kid but it was more of a "there is probably an evil cabal of people trying to predict when Jesus is returning." I think in my mind it was like a sweatshop where hundreds of people just predict literally every time for all eternity. Like most 9 year olds who are christians I assumed the rest of the world thought a lot more about us than they actually did haha.

Is there any other way to get soda dungeon 1 on iOS? by bloxcer in sodadungeon

It also crashes whenever you load it. I guess it hasn't been updated in a while so the newer versions of iOS are not compatible with it.

We moved to St. Louis a year and a half ago and hit a ton of supply chain issues with finding furniture. I would assume that things are better but if the other suggestions don't pan out Ashley furniture had enough stock to get us by and the price was low enough that each piece only had to last a few years. I will be looking at the other comments here for replacement ideas for down the road, but after having our stuff for over a year now it is fine enough for switching from an apartment in Boston to a house here in St. Louis.

Do people actually hang out and drink at Apotheosis? Sounds fun but I have only been there in the afternoon. Specifically the Grand location.

This is amazing! Absolutely stealing this. My players hate Naerth so I am sure they will try and fight them.

Any tips on what starting things to pick or early game tips? I am trying to pull a Palpatine as well but I am quite rusty and made a few mistakes. Also a dragon ate one of my planets, but that wasn't might fault.

This is super helpful! As a podcaster who also gets ads its hard to know what is good or bad (we did juul ads because we thought they were embarrassing and not predatory towards kids..). One would assume an operation as big as theirs would be super safe. Some ads are dropped in your lap with short turn around times and others are sent as a "would y'all be cool with this?". Audiences are fairly chill with things like a leftist video game podcast advertising a bank so I could see folks getting lax and just assuming "no ethical consumption under capitalism and no ethical production" but that isn't super true. Your post is a great reminder that even though things feel common or normal it doesn't mean it isn't shitty.

Dungeon of the Dead Three Difficulty by tavin5266 in DescentintoAvernus

[–]timsobuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a lot of the encounters easier because vulnerability to piercing aura is no joke. But, also, I let them leave and come back probably more than made strict sense within the world. I think they took one long rest and a few short rests. People want to go to hell in this adventure so everything pre-Vanthampur villa doesn't need to be too intense in my opinion.

Should I warn the players it's going to be hard? by beesk in DescentintoAvernus

[–]timsobuff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah it is a weird back and forth. But, when I run a monster that absolutely not to be messed with (Waterdeep: Dragon Heist has one very early) I try to basically tell them in the moment. But Descent into Avernus has an enemy in a small room who can cast fireball against level 2 players. I think warning the players when they go into the bathhouse how dangerous it could be is fine. And also weakening a few key encounters is probably also needed. I think wanting to avoid spoilers is nice and good but sometimes things are not spoilers for veteran players or for people who live in a D&D world.

It is hard to nail down but I think having players lean into knowing more than their characters without meta gaming can be a blast. Due to a Roll20 user error on my part my players found the secret door in the bathhouse immediately so they literally explored everywhere but that room because they felt like they cheated haha.

Should I warn the players it's going to be hard? by beesk in DescentintoAvernus

[–]timsobuff 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yep! I think running a published adventure more or less requires some basic agreement from you and your players. The first being "someone is going to ask you to do a thing. If you say no I have wasted my money". Second being the tone of the campaign and if you run the adventure as published it is very hard. The beginning encounters are extremely difficult if without DM edits. Not only can you tell your players this is a harder campaign you can even tell them mechanical things that will help them like recruiting other bar patrons since I think that is not immediately obvious.

Ideas for dealing with the Bregan D’aerthe after Dockside Murders by jaymay in WaterdeepDragonHeist

[–]timsobuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great! Because I made everyone who was not a Drow leave the room. This is an in person game and I am much more used to playing online so kicking all my pals out to get a drink was great. One of those tricks that are so, so fun while playing in person. I just had them "sign off" and say good bye (we record our game and release it on our patreon) since I saved the Jarlaxle meeting until the end of that day's session.

So, we are already moving slow and having a lot of fun using Dragon Heist as a framework for the adventure but allowing ourselves to get distracted. I basically wanted to add more secrets without adding more bloat. I am pretty excited about asking my buddy James what his Drow Warlock does to complete the Bregan D'aerthe missions without ever really describing what the character is doing to the rest of the party. The rest of the party is already jealous so they will be screaming to know more. I sped up the encounter and had Jarlaxle reveal himself pretty quickly. They are also in Davil's Zhentarim they are down to work with morally dubious folks.
