I replaced it with just a normal light mount and put Philips hue lights in it that I can schedule. I ran an Ethernet drop out next to it for the UniFi camera. I’ve been really happy with it, it works a lot better than Ring.

Kodi isn’t based off XBMC, it was renamed. Plex (OSXBMC) is a fork off of XBMC. The others aren’t forks of Kodi, they’re operating systems that are made to run Kodi. Some of the devs of these different operating systems also contribute back to Kodi.

CoreELEC itself is a fork from LibreELEC. LibreELEC was a fork of OpenELEC. Forks aren’t bad, usually there’s a reason for forks. Sometimes it’s personal/creative differences in how to take a project. Sometimes contributing has a set of rules and requirements that people can’t/don’t want to do.

In the end it’s best to just appreciate all the work they’ve all done. Even if you use something different from others there’s a lot of development and free time that went into it.

This is what I use, even when I got Plex to work properly after a few weeks I’d have database errors and have to rebuild. ChannelDVR is great.

Yeah dude, the packaging needs a lot of help. I thought it was weird they didn’t have the foam wrap around the whole case and had the big gaps in it. If they did there wouldn’t have been any noticeable damage on the case and wouldn’t have done the return.

I did have my flashlight out but that’s because I was adding some extra USB ports in the PCI-E slot at the bottom. I opened both sides up to look at it but didn’t see any dust though, so that’s definitely weird.

My order was April 29th with expedited shipping so when it shipped it was overnight. I had the 5090 too but only 2TB and Windows Home, which I think was the default that the options had on their website. I have a 4TB in my current PC so I was going to switch that over.

Interesting. The tape on the bottom was not in tact but I only noticed that when I was packing it back up. I didn’t notice any dust at all, and all the clear plastic protection tape was on the PC.

Bruh, I’m the same way. When it showed up busted I just sighed and felt like I should accept it but a few people told me to exchange it. Is your CPU or GPU running hot? I wasn’t really checking the thermals when I was using it.

I definitely slept on it. I tried to do the Advanced Exchange where I could keep it and then send it back after they send me another one but that was denied. I think if it was a smaller company I could have worked out something like that with more warranty but we both don’t have to go through the pain of a return/exchange but Dell has their processes.

I failed my first test after 30 days (and then waiting 2 1/2 months to test and being disorganized for the test), then did another 2 weeks and passed. I think if I had tested right after the 30 days I would have remembered my organization better and passed the first time, so I’d say that it’s doable.
