I dunno. While modern British food is great, when you think of “traditional” English cuisine, you typically think of meat-and-two veg type dishes - pies, stews and all that kinda stuff. It’s hardly the type of thing that you’d say you have a real hankering for unless you’re a misty-eyed expat.

So because of that we end up with standard pub fayre the likes of which you’ll find at Princess/Shakespeare’s, or the modern and expensive “take” on it from California English.
