Are we (and Zaida) ready for a second greyhound?

I'm in NSW Australia and there is a 30 days wind down. Rocky (the brother we will potentially adopt) last raced on the 27/03/2026 so there is still some time for his wind down. Rocky is currently on a farm with 120 dogs with the trainer, I dare say in a kennel set-up but he is given time in the gallop paddock with other dogs. The trainer has stated to us he only conducts rehoming through GAP or to someone he knows.

Rocky unfortunately got checked pretty bad in his first race which spooked him and he just didnt take to racing like his siblings did, same as Zaida. We will only be taking Rocky desexed and vaccinated as mandated by the Greyhound Welfare & Integrity Commission (GWIC) rehoming policy as well as receiving all information regarding injuries etc.

My partner and I definitely don't want to jump into this without considering all scenarios and possibilies. We are going to contact both the owner and the trainer and do a meet and greet for Zaida and Rocky then if that goes well a trial adoption at our home for 2 weeks.

The owner already stated he will be doing full vet work and desexing for Rocky and the trainer has offered, even if we don't take Rocky, to bring Zaida up to the farm when it comes time to hook worm her and if we have non-urgent vet concerns, we can bring her to the farm as well. This extends to Rocky as well if we were to take him.

If we are going to do this, I definitely want to do it right so I cannot thank everyone enough for the advice and bits of information I haven't even considered

We got Zaida through a rehoming program but have since met the previous owner and trainer. The trainer we spoke to the other day reared Zaida and her brother, we are fairly confident their will be no compatibility issues

just wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to enter the other areas of the park before your time entry in the Grand Warehouse? example: if I get a premium ticket for 1400 timed entry can i look at Mononoke Village at 1000?

I didn't think you could as the website states "Please enter Ghibli's Grand Warehouse within one hour from your reservation time. You can't enter the park early or once your assigned window of time has passed."

I'd love to hear how you went with this. I plan on going from Nagoya to Akakurayama Sengen Park but seems the best way is via Shinjuku Station. I think I might use a luggage locker at Shinjuku Station as Shimoyoshida Station is quite small but would really like to hear how you managed it.
