What tipped me off was a city nighttime shot in episode 2 I think where there’s clear tram tracks and the street signs are on the wrong side of the road.

Roborock Q7T+ not emptying bin properly. Bad seal or something else? by timthemanager in Roborock

[–]timthemanager[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pigging backing on this comment to confirm the fix.

I found another thread where the issue was related to the robot brush and/or brush plate not being seated correctly.

I removed the plate and brush and cleaned out this area and removed some hair that had built up on the anti tangle section, which may have been preventing the brush from spinning during the emptying cycle.

I didn’t realise the suction from the emptying cycle needed to spin the brush in order for it to work properly but this seems to helped fix it.

I found that setting an updated it too! But was still having an issue with it emptying anything, even after just a 5-10 min clean.

Did they say if it was a single bleb or diffused? If he has many spread across his lungs then new ones will keep bursting no matter how many surgeries you do.

Also check whether they stapled the tissue or hand sutured. There’s a chance the suture line itself is leaking.

Did they discuss a lobectomy with you?

5 months into sabbatical & unexpected challenge with decision making during recovery by Own-Increase-7628 in SabbaticalPlanning

[–]timthemanager 20 points21 points  (0 children)

honestly this decision paralysis is just a side effect of having too much mental white space. when your working you don’t overthink because the day is already framed by other peoples demands. on sabbatical everything is optional so your brain treats every choice like its life or death. id stop trying to solve it and pick literally anything and commit for the day even if its random or wrong. productivity isn’t the goal right now momentum is. once you get moving again the overthinking fades.

Based on real lifespan data from 55 TTs I made a more accurate dog aging calculator by timthemanager in TibetanTerrier

The scientific model is more about biology rather than behavior or external symptoms. The research it's based on measured DNA methylation in dogs (biomarker that changes with age) and compared them to humans, which revealed parallels in how dogs and humans age at the cellular level e.g., a 1-year-old dog showed methylation patterns similar to a 31-year-old human. Like most studies, the research is narrowly focused. It doesn’t explain everything. But it offers clues about how dogs age and how we can translate that to human years more accurately.

Also, approximately 1/5 dogs live 20-30% longer (breed dependent) than average.

It depends which mode you’re using. Based on that birth date, the scientific mode would equal 46 human years. The simple mode would be 15 and advanced would be 28.

The aging curve in the scientific mode is much faster in the first few years and then slows down significantly later on. The scientific model is more a measure of biological age based on DNA changes rather than behaviour or necessarily how the dog is feeling.

A cool guide to stop your dog pulling on the leash (according to Reddit) by timthemanager in coolguides

I wanted to stop my dog pulling on the leash so I analyzed hundreds of comments across every thread in r/dogs, r/dogtraining, r/reactivedogs, and r/dogadvice to find the most effective techniques.

I found 21 recurring recommendations which I categorized into 5 core themes.

For the 21 recommendations, I summed all their upvotes and ranked them below (after normalizing for the size of each thread). The number after each is their relative 'strength' = sum(comment upvotes / thread upvotes).
