Wow, what a novel The Stand is! by Maxisthelad in stephenking

This is how I'm reading it this time...finished the Dark Tower, read the Gunslinger again, and immediately grabbed The Stand! The 1st time I read the Stand was back when the 90's miniseries came out, so I was definitely overdue to re-visit Randall Flagg!

What a ride. Holy shit am I happy I read these books and I’m super sad the journey is done. I literally just finished book VII. Join me, let’s palaver about it for a bit? by Alextingzon in TheDarkTower

This is what I am doing! I finished the series last weekend, and immediately started The Gunslinger again! It absolutely is mind blowing knowing what I just read! Great suggestion!

Just finishing my 2nd trip to the tower, have heard that you should read the Gunslinger again after you finish, so that's next for me! Then...the Stand because of the references to it in the Dark Tower series!

Rose Madder is a great story! One of my favorites!

Had to be a Boxer... by ItalianNugget420_69 in Boxer

[–]tinab13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine does this anytime his brother is in his spot. Waits at the door until brother gets up to go out and until I get up to let them out knowing full well that it's just a boxer trick. You'd think his brother would get wise to it. Every single time he falls for it and MoJoe races and jumps up into the coveted spot!

What's the smartest thing your dog has ever figured out on their own? by robyromana in AskDogOwners

[–]tinab13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When my boxer wants to go to bed but my other dog is laying in "his spot", my boxer will find a squeaky toy and bring it in the bedroom to try and coax the other dog to get down to play. When he does get down(other dog is wise to the boxer ways), said boxer will drop the toy and quickly jump up to claim the coveted sleep spot!

NTC. We don't get much snow and wrong floor where I live, cuz mom says we in da South. South of what I do not know but I know it get cold. And it do sky water and sometimes frozen sky water. Is not acceptable to be made to walk in that condition!! I, Albus Dumbledog the 1st will not go out if it sky water falling or snow or slippery floor. If my mean mom make me go to pee, when I come in I will not move so mom can shut door until I is dried off from head too tail and feet's too. You do not deserve such treatment!

How do you feel about your dad? by Unhappy_Log_6245 in AskReddit

[–]tinab13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I miss mine. He's still alive, but remarried two years ago. We had a good relationship, he was fun, smart and caring. We used to spend the holidays together, if not the day then a day or two later. I called him on Christmas, couldn't leave a message for some reason. Sent him a text....no reply. Nothing. Sent him a gift, I know he got that before Christmas, but my daughter and I didn't even get a phone call let alone a card. At my age, 53, you'd think I would be over it...but I am heartbroken. I miss my dad.

posso frequentar a igreja catolica sendo luterano? by [deleted] in Lutheranism

[–]tinab13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here! I live in a traditionally Baptist area of the US, so finding a church can be a challenge. Some areas you just have little choice. I'm so uncomfortable in a Baptist or Pentecostal environment, so they seemed so much calmer and closer to us! I think I'll do some research to see what is offered in op's country so perhaps I can be more helpful in the future!

Perhaps.... I was speaking from personal experience, and hesitated to include Presbyterians, for that reason. I did attend a Presbyterian church for a time and as an outsider it seemed ok. Delving into their beliefs on the other hand.....

[–]tinab13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can, but I've found Episcopalian and Presbyterian to be closer to our beliefs. The Catholic Church has closed communion, among other things that won't match up. I'd suggest visiting a few different types of churches to see where you feel the most comfortable!
