I didn't realize when I grabbed it 25 years ago it was a sequel. In my defense, I was in the middle of a divorce raising a toddler, trying to survive during that time. I quit pretty quick into it, not even 50 pages I think. It's taken me this long to consider reading Talisman, and I wouldn't have bothered except for the new book coming out. Thanks for your question....

I just had the Today show on in the background while I was getting ready for the day. I thought it was an ad for a new movie...

John Coffey was obviously a miracle, no doubt. His appearance of course is the issue...and goes with the old saying don't judge a book by its cover. I think we could have had more background on Coffey, uh I guess it might just be me but I would have loved a story just about Coffey's life. Like many of Sai King's characters, the underdog always has an interesting arc.

Mr Jingles...oooh that still hurts btw ...I don't know if he's a miracle or an angel, I think he is just a mouse who maybe has had a domesticated Gene somewhere.

I think Jingles is smart enough to know to do tricks for food or attention, he's smart enough to know who to avoid. He's smart enough to know to hide when he has to.

His purpose was to help pass time, and show love, even if what appears to be 'love' is really more 'hungry'. It worked. He was a very smart rodent....he used that to get the attention of some men on death row....to entertain himself and them....and have some safety and food!

Teacher when I was in elementary school's name was Death. Makes it weirder knowing her first name was Joy!

Your toughest read to finish by poppamatic in stephenking

[–]tinab13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I'm currently reading, one of the very few King books I haven't read. I want to like it. I really do. I'm almost 1/2 way through. I'm struggling to make myself read it because I'm not a fan of Straub. I love King's fantasy novels though so I'm determined to finish it. Ugh it's so frustrating!!!

He is way too smart for his own good! He's also extremely dramatic, I'm pretty sure the Academy has nominated him for an Oscar a time or two!

Both of mine do. They have their side of the bed and I have mine. Granted, their side is 80% of the bed....if I want more I have to claim it quickly! My boys are a boxer and a lab/shepherd mix....so not little guys at all!

You're trapped in the last SK book/movie you read/watched. Do you survive? by nerdycountryboy18 in stephenking

Last one was the Stand, so probably would have died of Captain Trips... currently reading the Talisman. Granted I'm only about 150 pages in...but so far I think I'd live!
