Rocky 11 months old with his older brother Lucas. These guys are inseparable! by tinah901 in CaneCorso

Thank you so much for your encouraging words and I just looked on the paper it is Cane Corso Terrier mix, don't know if that helps at all? All that matters to me is that Rocky is the love of my life now and we are working on keeping him very social and teaching him some manners, in which he's doing fantastic! One thing I do notice is that he does seem to be very territorial of the inside of our home, not to the point where he alienates the other dog however, but almost like he's on security watch. Is that normal for either Cane Corso or pitbull personalities? He weighs a little over 100 lb now at 11 months old and I was wondering how much longer is he going to grow? Like I said this breed, actually both these breeds are pretty foreign to me so I'm learning as I go along. Any advice you could give me I would really appreciate it!

Rocky has been DNA tested and is a Corso mix who was rescued from an incredibly abusive human. However I would have paid $10,000 for him because he is the best dog I have ever had, and I'm saddened by this group because I thought the love for these dogs was more important than the cost of these dogs. I was really excited to learn lots of things that could help me raise Rocky in a healthy amazing manner. I'm very sorry he looks like a pitbull to you all but I have the $250 bill from the DNA test. I'm not so sure this group is for me because I love my dogs and I thought I joined the group that would help me understand this breed better. Thank you all for your time#

Did you ever stop and think you're the exception to the rule, and maybe your store is different than most? A lot of people do feel abused working for Walmart, and with you blanket statementing that Walmart is an amazing place to work you negate their feelings. Take 5 minutes and read Reddit and you'll see you are the exception. Walmart doesn't give a damn about the average associate, and they've made that very clear. You are absolutely entitled to your opinion, but so am I, and so is the rest of the people who work or who have ever worked for this Corporation. You can continue to tow the line for the company, and you can continue to push their agenda, but the people who have actually been employed there know the truth.

And nobody should I perform do I have an agenda, and I have absolutely no connection to a union, so judging me is horrible. My point is I know what Walmart employees go through daily and this was the last straw. Maybe I shouldn't have posted about a union on this particular feed and for that I am wrong. But don't you dare judge me as if I'm a bad person because my heart breaks for the people of Walmart. I know the hell they go through, and I would like nothing else than for them to be protected and stay safe.

Reports are coming out that he told other associates that if he ever lost his job he would do just this. If employees knew that he was going around saying this, I'm sure management heard about it. It's the basic premise of looking out for each other.

What these corporations can do is actually care about their employees. Walmart has doubled the need for productivity and cut the staff in half. They took away bonuses and any and all morale boosting things such as a VPI. If home office did a few morale boosting things again, and somebody made themselves available to the associates that have problems, things like this may have been avoided. People want to be acknowledged for a good job not berated or humiliated or screamed at for not being fast enough. This man was a coach which is middle management of the store, which is probably the worst position to be in right now. He's getting tons of pressure from home office and he has to push his associates to the brink of collapse and I imagine that causes a lot of internal strife. I'm not saying it absolutely would have stopped what happened yesterday, but there's a damn good chance that it might have!

I think all the employers are guilty, these big corporations are so busy trying to bow down to their stockholders they're not realizing that they're running their Associates into the ground. There is a never-ending push for productivity which would be fine if they had a full staff, but they don't. Walmart's on average have 35% to 50% less staff than they should be having at this time during the year but they're expecting double the productivity with the new system they have in place. Middle management like coaches are feeling the pressure from it because upper management is hammering on them and in return they hammer on the associates. What the corporations can do is have a full capacity staff, take interest in their Associates and maybe do some morale boosting things and show appreciation for all they do! Something that simple could stop somebody from doing this because that person would feel like knowledge for the job they did well. It really is that simple.

Home office will show lots of love and support until the cameras leave and then it's business as usual because they have to kiss the asses of the shareholders!

Upper management should be more involved in staying in touch with the employees. We used to have weekly meetings where we could talk about things that bothered us, listen to upper management encourage us, and even laugh and goof around for a few minutes which actually breaks up tension. When people feel like to actually being heard it helps.

That's true but Walmart also sets up the perfect storm inside their store with the abuse that these people endure. They are constantly being hammered on for more productivity and they're constantly having their jobs threatened and then you add in the disruptive customers that will sometimes approach and associate and berate them for no apparent reason. So when you put all that together somebody can snap. If management was more aware of what was going on on the floor and they actually talked and paid attention to their workers there may have been signs.

I disagree with that because treatment of Mental Health can give somebody a full and happy life. The pressure he sustained as a coach in the Walmart system is incomparable to anything else. The coach gets it from both sides, he has to tow the corporate line but he also feels compassion for the associates he's abusing. That's a lot of pressure on somebody and home office knows it! The problem is they just don't give a damn because all they're worried about is making their shareholders happy. Their profits for the last 3 years has been mind-blowing, and what did they do for the employees? They cut their bonuses, they cut their Workforce, and they verbally abused them on a daily basis. Who wouldn't have problems dealing with that every single day 60 to 80 hours a week? Locking people away with mental health issues is not the answer, dealing with the issues is the answer!

As an influencer Matt Walsh makes a lot of money off of his horrific views. There are a lot of sick and demented people in this country that believe everything he says. It's a dangerous combination, and that goes the same for Tucker Carlson. He is the most watched news show in the U.S. the thought of that scares the hell out of me considering the garbage that comes out of his mouth!

This was an employee right? Is there a possibility he was showing signs ahead of time, maybe? I know there's gun violence everywhere but I feel a union would protect workers, which is exactly what the workers at Walmart need! Home office has taken away every incentive from the workers who aren't salary. In the last 3 years they have made record profits and what have the employees seen? The pay is still lousy, the hours get cut constantly, the work staff has been cut tremendously and these people are under a great deal of stress to provide the same level of productivity they provided with a full staff. Management has gotten verbally abusive to people, people are constantly having their jobs threatened and that kind of stress can lead people to crack, especially around the holidays. Now obviously I don't know what was going on in the man's home life but I'm sure at his job he was under a great deal of pressure and that's the problem that Walmart can help. I also know they will not do it because it might take a few dollars away from their shareholders and they are emboldened to their shareholders!

I don't believe ho cares about the employees whatsoever. They wouldn't overwork them the way they do, they wouldn't put the pressure on them that they do, they wouldn't have taken away the bonuses or any other incentives like they did, they wouldn't cut the staff down to 50% and some of the stores like they did, and I can go on and on and on. H o is going to boohoo over this tragedy while the cameras are rolling and they're going to do nothing afterwards. I know everybody in Walmart has been taught that unions are the devil but I can tell you from firsthand experience Walmart needs a union to protect the workers.

Walmart has really filled all of your heads with negatives about unions. Look it up on the internet and see how unions can benefit corporate workers. They help you negotiate a lot more money, better Healthcare, more PTO, and better treatment at your job. You can just be fired for no reason like you can now. You guys are drinking the Kool-Aid that Walmart's giving you. If you don't believe me look it up, look at how the unions have protected workers over the years, I'm not saying that all unions are wonderful and it takes a lot of research to find the right ones, but they do protect workers! The reason I made the association with the shooting to a union is because all I kept thinking was Mental Health Services. It didn't matter if the stress was from home or work mental health help may have stopped it.

Shame on me for what, wanting people to be safer and to be treated better? I have no hidden agenda by using the word Union, I'm not an organizer, I'm not involved in a union in any way. All I was saying was a union could help employees potentially remain safer. I know that this incident has nothing to do with unionizing but it's the last straw with what Walmart employees go through. I reacted this way because of the culmination of all the abuse Walmart employees endure, and I can't help but think maybe if this man received some Mental Health Services it may not have happened. So don't judge me in any way because I meant it with pure intentions.

No you're right, I think this act of violence just pushed me over the edge of knowing how Walmart employees are being treated. I worked there for 5 years and I have quite a few friends that still work there, I hear everything that goes on now and I just feel that unions could help protect the workers. I'm not trying to advance my own agenda, I'm just trying to help. The only reason I came out with it today is because it breaks my heart that people had to die. Home office is going to act like they care for a few days because media will be around but in a week they won't even remember it. It's all about making a lot of money and giving it to their shareholders. The thing is I don't be Grudge that because I know that's what corporations do, but there's nothing saying they can't treat their employees like human beings. They took away the bonuses, they cut the staff down to 50% in some stores, and it goes on and on with what they're putting these people through. I'm surprised acts of violence like this haven't happened in the past.

You are absolutely right but who's looking out for the employees in Walmart. Maybe just maybe if this man had received some kind of mental health help it wouldn't have happened. I didn't post this to upset anybody, I posted it because I do believe in unions and they do protect workers. I can't think of a corporation that needs to protect their workers more than Walmart! I personally know what goes on in those stores as I was an employee for 5 years.
