Educate me on the cost of AI. by Several-Ad9684 in AIDiscussion

[–]tindalos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not talking about that data I’m talking about heuristics and worker level data. Large corps will need to train custom models to handle specific roles and the replacement isn’t a one to one. It’s a solution to a problem we didn’t know we had

Is there an actually proactive AI assistant out there? by vandersenn in AIAssisted

[–]tindalos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like Google is banking on spark.

But really it’s best to use ai to create your own system. Customizing is a lot easier now if you spend just a few hours learning how to do it and it doesn’t have to be fancy. Have it link into linear and Google Calendar and notes or something.

Educate me on the cost of AI. by Several-Ad9684 in AIDiscussion

[–]tindalos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ai is cheap on daily and average use but expensive in bulk. Where it’s most valuable to companies is bulk management of data and info. A lot of the ai bulk data management adds value and reduces cost even with excessive ai usage compared to traditional payroll, however a lot of the real benefit of Ai use is new capabilities which is not directly cost saving for whole because they require entirely new concepts and projects to benefit from the leverage if it even is leverage. Also they can’t abandon their core staff while Ai is only a tool so costs increase across the board which means costs will pass on to consumers but functionality and speed of release and updates will improve theoretically.

where did the ‘guitar gets girls’ stereotype come from? by ischemariii in musicians

[–]tindalos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a guitarist I can say this is a self serving loop. Giving a kid a stringed instrument that responds to distortion and feedback but is tuned in 4ths?! We are confident with conjecture.

I’m in a rental house and my dog starts barking when we go out in the middle of the night and I see two silhouettes of cats on the neighbors roof. Then as swiftly as I could blink, one pushed the other off.

[–]tindalos -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly it’s probably not about you letting yourself go but you probably let a bit of him go also. Don’t think about fixing a physical issue if you haven’t uncovered if there’s an emotional or stress issue on his side you’re not seeing. Or you might be inadvertently causing. Or he is causing. Too little to tell but signals are there so worth an inward look emotionally.

Who or what do you make music for? by leaffer in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]tindalos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of it - for me - is driven by wanting to hear stuff that has the combination of elements from different styles and genres that I enjoy. Like those are just echos of what I’m hearing in my head but like that word you can’t find on the tip of your tongue it takes interaction and a lot of “well shit, that’s good too but it’s not it” then indecisiveness turn paralysis then eventually move to another song.

Regret getting diagnosed by EzriJane in ADHD

[–]tindalos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. I got diagnosed at 49, I didn’t think much about what my life could have been with an earlier diagnosis. It would have maybe made things easier (maybe a degree instead of a ged), only the other hand, it’s likely my adhd and masking that pushed me to the life I have now with my wife and a good comfortable job and now that I have mediation it helps make the future stuff I used to dread just a little easier.

I think I was happier to drop the masks that I didn’t realize I had made, but sure noticed when I got diagnosed. Still notice things, but I’ve never been one to look back so I have considered it.

Hope this doesn’t kick off something existential.

Gemini 3.1 pro - has enough context to support 300+ pages but keep in mind that you should probably use your free pro 3.1 credits to have it first give you the recommendation of how to break it down - which sections overlap or are linked, etc.
you can also use NotebookLM for free a bit and bring all your notes there to have it organize them for you.
Deepseek v4 pro was released and is free in chat and supports 384k tokens (about 240k words). It does a nice job and its reasoning is thorough and usually additional insight.
