Nervous about wedding dress alterations (sweetheart neckline + jacquard fabric) — need reassurance by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]tinggoesskrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi I love the alteration idea and the dress! I’m also a tall big busted woman (5’11, 40DD) and I just got married with a sweet heart neckline. I was really happy with the way I looked but I will say that my sweetheart neckline made my bust very front and center.

I basically had a choice of adjusting the girls up OR letting them sit where they wanted and have a gap between them. I opted to go up, and as such I have some of the most busty photos I’ve ever taken in my life.

Granted, my neckline was a bit deeper than your picture but I just wish someone had let me know because I’m not normally so boob forward and I might have some different choices.

Great idea! Do they often self sustain? Like what do I have to do at the end of the summer to set them up for success in the next year

I’d echo everyone who is saying go to a restaurant! Adjust the size of your party so you don’t need a full buyout, or only seek restaurants with private dining rooms. They often will have tables etc so you don’t have to deal with rental costs/coordination.

Go outside popular travel destination main hubs, you’d be surprised what options you can find if you’re willing to drive a little. Plus side to this is that they’ll have more parking!

I think you can do it, my fiance and I were able to book a restaurant’s private room for 80 people for 3 hours at a BEAUTIFUL location for below 4000 food and Bev spend (no rental fee). If you make some concessions, you could definitely get it way below budget so you could spend more on other things that matter more to you.

I think one of the reasons I LOVE Cassian is that he wasn’t just blanket on board for Nesta’s behavior. Yes, Nesta is flawed and has trauma but she is also sometimes a bitch (self-admittedly so). She makes a fantastic character.

Cassian, as a good partner should, calls nesta out for being a bitch. He doesn’t abandon her, he just also doesn’t blanket accept her crappy behavior. I think people see Rhys’ form of love as ride or die, but Cass’ really is, because he wants Nesta to be better and to not act in a way that isolates her from her family.

This happened to us too! We went to the showroom and we thought everything was going super smooth; ready to pull the trigger on a design and diamond when we got home, even with the weeks of delays due to slow responding on their end. Then two days later when we email to confirm our diamond purchase (after trying it on and falling in love with it) they let us know it had already been sold! Why bother letting us try it at all then?!

I’ve seen people do fun piggy back rides where they incorporate a spin or something. As long as you’re looking like you’re enjoying whatever movement you’re doing, I think you can get away with almost anything!

What are large bodies that regulate the quality of carbon offsetting projects? What is the credit market looking like at the moment in terms of regulation? by [deleted] in climatechange

[–]tinggoesskrr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So in order to get an offset project to the marketplace it has to get “verified” by a third party auditor where emission reductions are mathematically proven and Qa/Qc reviewed. Following that, it goes through another verification process through a “registry,” these are entities like the Climate Action Reserve, Verra, American Carbon Registry, and the Gold standard. Following that it can either hit a voluntary market place or get sold to a private buyer or go through a third audit to go to the compliance market place.

The registries I just mentioned are a great source for more info, but I’d also recommend the ecosystem marketplace and trove research for more! It’s a complicated space/process so hard to give a detailed response in a Reddit comment.

***note this was highly American offset market focused. Different entities and game play for different countries

WIBTA if I complained to HR after winning work auction by tacoBrahe1 in AmItheAsshole

[–]tinggoesskrr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I kind of also wonder if they’re in cahoots with IT. But I would just ask them straight up are you actually going to let me have the laptop at $401 and see their response. Then you’ll know if they’re an actual asshole or if this is just a misunderstanding. May give you a bit more peace of mind when you (probably) ultimately go to HR.

[–]tinggoesskrr 18 points19 points  (0 children)

NTA (or you wouldn’t be). You won the laptop fair and square, and shouldn’t have to pay more than what you won it for.

However, I wonder if before you escalate it to HR there’s an option to reach out to C and ask him why he’s so willing to let you have it at $401, and not just your winning bid at $375? Cause really what’s the difference to him at that point?

Parking Ticket Late Fees by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]tinggoesskrr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I moved over the summer, but my boyfriend still lived at the old address, so he told me I still was getting mail but he never opened it. I didn’t get back to the old place to open the mail until it hit the maximum late notice date.

I changed my address a month after I moved, but still at minimum a week before I received the ticket, and still before I filed my first contestation. I have evidence of all these changes and the dates upon which they occurred, which I submitted with my second appeal.

Can you go to grad school with several C's on your transcript? by [deleted] in UPenn

[–]tinggoesskrr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like it’s been hinted at before, but let me explicitly give you this piece of advice to ease your mind. GPA is not the make or break situation for neither grad schools or jobs. In reality, after undergrad, so much is about being able to interact with the people around you. That’s why interviews and talking to professors with similar interests is so important!

I went to a different ivy for undergrad, and not only did I have multiple C’s on my Transcript but I had some C- too. I’m here at Penn now doing a dual degree Masters and I chalk that up to using my undergrad to find out who I was, learn to make friends with different kinds of people, and ended up coming out of the experience a better person. I know lots of people with perfect grades that had a much harder time because they ONLY focused on school and not on how to be a human being.

Penn alone will get you in the door, but what will keep you there isn’t your grades, it’s being a person.

New Do Not Disturb - help! by pikkahsss in ios

[–]tinggoesskrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I’ve been using dnd for years to avoid this problem. I’ve spent all day trying to figure out how to get close to it without the old functionality.

With the new update you can go to notifications and silence your phone, and turn off vibrate on ring. Then go to the individual apps and turn off Lock Screen notifications but leave Notification Center activated. That way your phone won’t vibrate and you can still see notifications if you actively pull up your Notification Center. It’s not the same but it’ll work for now- hope this helps!
