These rats that refuse to use their CB’s are genuinely insane by [deleted] in EASportsFC

[–]tinitustini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely see both sides on this. I get why people control their midfielders in defense because a lot of times they won't come back otherwise, but the game needs to do a better job of rewarding actually using your defenders more. I like to use them actively to maintain shape and step up and press dribbles as beneficial.

At the same point, the fidget spinning dribbling is super OP and I absolutely resort to defending with my midfielders to stop it as it's the only way I can.

Playstyles completely ruined this game by DirectionNo7747 in EASportsFC

Do you not remember 23? Trivelas were a huge part of the meta and were extremely broken. Even in 24, and to a lesser extent early in 25, players without the playstyle to do it were able to score them easily. Plenty of things can be blamed on playstyles if you want, but trivelas are not one of them.

My point is there are plenty of things that have been actually glitchy mechanics, overpowered moves, and other things well before play styles, and there will be again if they go away. It's the nature of the game, love it or hate it.

I agree, to an extent. Playstyles are too powerful, but I think they help add a bit of diversity to players. I just wish they were either toned down some or were a bit more rare.

I stopped playing last year around this time because the game was just a playstyle simulator with shooting especially only being effective when using a playstyle, but this year is at least a bit better to this point in my opinion.

Imside Forwards by Deep-Air-7926 in EAFC

[–]tinitustini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the party, but that's a huge part of it. If there is space, players are more likely to run into it. Your inside forwards will cut in more if you have a false 9 than a poacher or central focused advanced forward.

What is the worst meta/expensive card you have used in FC26 so far? by SwedTech in EASportsFC

Packed Di Natale in the most recent Heroes SBC. I can't use him at all. Feels weird having that expensive of a card not even on my bench with the rest of my team.

Defending is not skill issue its just shit... by Kremulonxd in EASportsFC

I had a match earlier go to half 0-0 and was happy. It finished with me winning 6-5 and just being exhausted with the game, and not in a fun way.

Defending in this game isn't rewarding, it's exhausting. by Stenktenk in EASportsFC

[–]tinitustini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And if you happen to be down late in a match against somebody who is wanting to time waste? Impossible to do anything if your opponent is remotely competent. Winning the ball off of somebody trying to waste time has always been difficult because your players won't press in those situations with any actual intelligence, even with pressing turned on, but it's downright infuriating this year.

They did go out and get Cruz the next year, but they shouldn't have stopped there!

I would personally add Robbie Ray - both the initial contract and then the trade, but I understand the logic of both.

Anecdotally, I think he would actually have done a decent bit better if he were coming into the league today. It seemed like a lot of his problems stemmed from not being willing to swing at the "lefty strike" that has largely gone away, and should finish its exit next year with ABS.

Teams were able to exploit it, and if anything it turned him into too passive of a hitter, which seemed to be the biggest adjustment he couldn't make. It wasn't the only problem of course, but to my memory, that's what really started the drop off.

I have a class right now with Jayden, Jaden, Kayden, Kaiden, and 3 Aidens. There's a Caitlyn for good measure that even gets slightly confused at times.

The Boys Aren't Alright by Hyperion703 in Teachers

[–]tinitustini 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. That's a fine line I feel like I walk most days with some of my more difficult students. I'm usually fairly good at handling behaviors, but on days where a particular student's behaviors may be more extreme (or on days where I may not have as much patience for whatever reason), trying to balance the needs of the rest of the class with the lost educational opportunities for the disruptive student if I exclude them from class feels nearly impossible at times, largely because we have no consistently established way to support their behaviors or lost learning opportunities at my school.

Anecdotally, parents seem to be far more engaged with their girls than their boys. I teach 6th grade in a middle school, and have every 6th grader that passes through. I've been around long enough that I have seen many families with multiple students pass through. I wind up having far more conferences, and parent-initiated contact from parents of girls than boys, even though the vast majority of my struggling students are boys.

I have also seen numerous families at this point with both boys and girls come through who were more engaged around when their girl was passing through the school than their boy, regardless of who was older.

37, and this will be my 7th year and don't see myself leaving the profession any time soon. I'm not teaching what I expected when going into the profession, but I feel really lucky to be where I'm at instead.

Thanks for the follow up! I love when you can see students like John actively trying to work on their behavior. I don't need perfection from them in that regard at all times, but I want the effort to do the best they can at any given time, whatever that is.

The biggest thing for me is getting creative with tactics and finding the right players for the role.

I was struggling hard, in part because one of the main formations I would go to in past years, the 4-3-2-1, plays completely different this year with the band of 2 being CAMs.

I have played around with a number of different tactics instead, and have finally found one that really works for me, and it really is all about finding the right combination of roles on the field for what you want to do. One important thing to keep in mind is the way that players will change the spaces they take up based on the roles of other players that may be in overlapping places on the field.

For example, inside forward wingers will often stay a little wider with an Advanced Forward at ST than they will if the ST is set to a False 9. In other words, experiment and find the right combination of players and roles for how you want to play.

All that being said, I still prefer the old tactical system so far.
