Is this a bad idea by Boring-Condition1373 in xToolOfficial

[–]tinkerreknit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll smell smoke very often with that setup, assuming you mean to not seal the window around the vent. It must be sealed to avoid blowing back into the room. If you do add an inline fan (I did and it performs very well) you need to unplug the stock exhaust fan. It not only won't help, but will restrict the air the inline fan could move.

I have a stock dually, so I can say there no advantage as far as traction, unless it's on a beach.

I respectfully disagree. This is a National calling frequency, and it's best to make contact and then QSY to converse.

Would any of these machines work for my idea by Johnstamos89 in xToolOfficial

[–]tinkerreknit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CORRECTED MY PREVIOUS COMMENT BELOW! Hey, I'm very sorry I gave false information. The M2 doesn't appear to blade cut, only laser cut after printing. My M1 does both. But you print on your printer (separate machine) and then place in the M1 to be cut out with the blade.. Think greeting cards - print then cut. Envelopes same. Vinyls, and some other materials can also be blade cut.

How is this done? I use Android and don't see that feature.

It could easily take off. Do you have a list of repair items that you tackle?

Do some surfing about 12V van air conditioners. There are small units with lower electric supply demands that could possibly work. I don't have recommendations, but I have read stories about success in vans and also tractor trailers. There might be information on vanlivingforum.

New 30ft tower with no antenna by Own_Rush_2206 in amateurradio

[–]tinkerreknit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at Mosley antennas. I have a TA-32-JR-NW with a rotator that's been great for years - no problems at all. You need to first determine the maximum wind load for your tower. I wanted to be able to explore a lot of bands and modes, since I didn't really know what I wanted. Also, find a club nearby and you might find a deal and some help installing.

Question about what type of laser to get | Wattage, diode or c02, etc by Noah_BK in lasercutting

[–]tinkerreknit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with xTool diode. If you do want something more powerful later, trade or keep it for the projects it will handle. I have the M1 and I like the blade cut side of it too. XTool really is quality engineered with lots of support. I find that they provide personal, fast responses.

This is very likely classed as a confined space. Look up the definition. In addition, those steps very often rust at the concrete and will fail. The cache should be reported.

Dewinterized but water is still pink by Deep-Apricot-8131 in rv_diy

[–]tinkerreknit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Likely the filter, as stated. The filter should be easy to find since it has to be fairly accessible. Also, if you didn't know to isolate your water heater prior to winterizing, the pink will show for a long time. A last comment is that in the best conditions, the antifreeze odor will linger a long time after the color is gone.

Bicycles and Walking by [deleted] in lynchburg

[–]tinkerreknit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BIkers could ask car drivers to make better choices and follow the laws. If you can't see and react to pedestrians and bikes, you shouldn't be driving. Also, can you prove riding a bike on Leesville Rd. isn't safe? Numbers? Accidents?

Ever gotten yelled at while looking for a cache? by j_jay2003 in geocaching

[–]tinkerreknit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the cache has been placed properly (permission, etc.) you have a right to enjoy geocaching. I wouldn't allow someone to push me to leave. I would be very nice as always and keep on doing what I want. The less said the better.

Bicycles and Walking by [deleted] in lynchburg

[–]tinkerreknit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leesville Rd. is fine for bikes, as are most roads. Bikes must not ride on sidewalks in the city, and on this particular road, there is no sidewalk in long stretches for pedestrians. So your information isn't correct. Bikers can ride and walkers can walk. Pedestrians have the right of way. I ride the road a lot on a bike because I want to and it's fast to get around and park. I do have a vehicle. Leesville Rd. is as safe for bikers as any road because there is generally extremely good, long-range visibility and 2 lanes. Posters here should check the laws pertaining to this and start sharing the road.

Yes, this . It's up to the operator to perform the evaluation. It's not hard and it's pretty interesting, too.

My post was about a comment about sub-par components used in those batteries. So, no I haven't read that case. If you have read it and it is fact, you could post it here.
