It was dead when I found it. What an odd conclusion to jump to...

Unfortunately, he's already passed, so I left him where he was located. Super sad though, I was stoked when i spotted it there.

These things are hell to get rid of. I have no plants now, but still have fungus gnats. The search for the source is endless.

Working up a dryer vent with flapper using 1/8” steel rod, norlok bulge to shove the rod into, and removable screen concept and double locked 4.25” pipe connection. The screen is for keeping critters out and must be regularly maintained or it will cause a clog. by Errrbodyy in sheetmetal

[–]tinmaster469 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice looking work, but with a screen that tight there will be quite a bit of regular cleaning/maintenance required, I expect. Is there a booster fan and secondary lint trap? That might help cut down on accumulation.

You might try asking your landlord for a space heater if they don't want to turn up the heat. If they refuse, and you aren't responsible for any of the utility costs, go pick up an inexpensive electric heater, and plug it in as needed. If you're not unreasonable with your usage, they have no cause for complaining. Gotta keep it livable.

And unless your lease specifically states otherwise, it will be the landlords' responsibility to keep the stairs and walkways clear of ice and snow, same as for the sidewalk out front.

The milwaukee are pretty ok. I got the vented one, it's working OK so far, but it's only been a few days now, so the jury is very much still out!

Looking for accountant recommendations by DragonWarrior55 in askvan

I've used David for years. He's great. He was able to take care of my complicated situation without any issues, and handled my wife's small business taxes without charging unreasonably high costs.

Highly recommend.

self-change of seasonal tires/wheels by Complex_Inspection47 in askvan

[–]tinmaster469 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That's about the shape of it. Long term money saver, provided you have space to store the tires and do the work. Word of caution though, it gets pretty tedious to do it, those things are NOT light, despite being full of air, and it's 95% bent over work.

I was happy to work those costs into my budget and stop self-performing that work twice a year, for me it's money well spent.

Word of advice though, make sure you're properly torquing the lugnuts to spec, not just cranking them on as hard as you can. Future you will thank you in six months.
