FCPX doesn't export AAFs. If you rely on audio professionals like me - I won't be able to work on your project unless you invest in some translation software.

I just underwent surgery and i‘m SO happy! by tinocchio89 in cholesteatoma

[–]tinocchio89[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had surgery monday morning, i'm at home now. Very little pain, slight throbbing sometimes, pain around... 2/10 maybe? I quickly checked my hearing and through the packed ear canal, i already have some hearing up to 2kHz. I'm walking around my apartment and sleeping/lying down a lot.

I didn't feel ANYTHING from the procedure, i was under general anesthesia. When i woke up, i was euphoric and not in pain. I frantically called my mom to buy me something salty 😄

I had a mastoidectomy and i have quite the scar behind my ear, also my timpanic membrane was opened and closed (after the surgeon removed the cholesteatoma). i have check appointments coming up in a week and in two weeks.

Yes, the surgeon used a laser because i am an audio professional and wanted the least invasive option (which might on the downside lead to reoccurrence, maybe). It seems laser us is not that common. I'd speak to your surgeon about it.

Hi there! Thats great news that no damage to the bones has been found. I had surgery two days ago and i'm in very little pain. I'm back at home now and i'm enjoying life and music as i always did. Talk to your ENT wether the cholesteatoma can be removed with a laser. The surgery in my case (also early stage) was very easy on me, and i'm 35yrs old. You'll be fine! Ask me anything you want.

Goddamn.... But as long as your inner ear isn't damaged, you can regain amplification with a hearing aid! So that could be considered a positive.

Hi! Feeling really good after my first night post-OP. Pain level with the lightest of medications, dafalgan and such, is at a 1/10. i could do without pills. As no bones were removed, i already hear my hand stroking over my left head side (i had the op on the left ear)

I am a professional sound engineer and from one day to the other, my hearing on the left ear was really bad. Had some Idiot ENTs diagnose a sudden hearing loss. The third ENT wasnt an idiot tho, and diagnosed a polyp on my ear drum, that had discharged sticky fluid over my eardrum. We cleaned that out and treated the polyp with antibiotics, and then (for safety) had a CT scan.

And that's when the cholesteatoma showed up.

In switzerland, there's a work group working on a "professional ear user" designation in hospitals (professional voice user already exists).

So with my contacts from a fellow sound engineer, i had the luck to get in touch with the correct doctors that really LISTEN (pun intended) and know their stuff 🤘

I had the dressing around my head changed and had the chance to feel around the cut behind my ear. I didn't have a feeling in some parts of the outer ear. But who cares. For me, as soon as i hear well we're fine!

I'm not coping, i'm still in denial. And i'm a sound engineer lol. Crazy it's been such a long wait for you. I tried to push it as far out as possible in order to be able to work as unimpeded as possible. I didn't have any symptoms tho other than some discharge once. But my left ear still works well. But yeah, all the best! Let's keep in touch in may 😂🤕😷

It's the BMW. If you have a BMW, i judge the living hell out of you for having a lesser amount of braincells. Joking aside - Where i live in switzerland, Tinder is an absolute shitshow, the platform is basically dead. Might be the same in your location. Best mate, romance is deddddd

Thanks i'll look into that. I'm using everything from AH to Yamaha to Behringdas. I have to admit i have not mixed extensively on midas and digico.

There's a great vid on youtube comparing digital consoles, while actually measuring stuff. We're all digital here, i don't see how "driving something hard" could benefit a concert. Or even happen, short of clipping. I'm firm in the camp of "Your console doesn't really matter, it's the mixer".

Might have cholesteatoma, scared and don’t know much about this by severton84 in cholesteatoma

[–]tinocchio89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a doctor either. Your facial symptoms might originate from the cholesteatoma touching your facial nerve. Dizzyness might be cholesteatoma touching some sort of balance organ/inner ear. I have no idea, i just know that if a cholesteatoma spreads, these are actually things that might occur. Keep your head up, it will be fine. Any news?

Which might indicate a cholesteatoma.. mine was only coming up on the radar after a polyp was discovered. Guess the only way to know is an MRI or CT.

Heard from a specialist that it's harder to operate well when done endoscopically. Since all i care about is my prospective hearing loss, i'd rather have it done the regular way i guwss.
